The downtrend in Trump’s presidential candidacy is now so prolonged that not even the most ardent Trump supporter can deny it.
The decline is all based on silliness. Worse yet, it is self-imposed silliness.
Some of the things Trump has stated are so ridiculous that Brent Budowsky, columnist at The Hill asks Is Trump deliberately throwing the election to Clinton?
Why might Trump, in theory, want to lose the election?
Think about it. If a candidate genuinely wants to become president, would he repeatedly insult the giant wave of Hispanic voters? Would he insult veterans who were heroic prisoners of war by saying that he “like[s] people who weren’t captured”? Would he repeatedly insult the 2008 GOP nominee and great war hero, Sen. John McCain (Ariz.)?
If a candidate actually wants to become president, would he and his advisers plan a strategy that includes praising the mass-murdering communist dictator of North Korea? Which voters did Trump believe he would win with that one? If a candidate truly wants to become president, would he and his foreign policy advisors plan a strategy that repeatedly praises Vladimir Putin, the strongman dictator of Russia, and say he is not sure he would defend Europe nations from a Russian invasion? Does Trump believe there is a pro-Putin vote in America?
I have been to many rodeos in national politics, and literally every single major player in politics that I know expected Trump to “pivot” after the conventions to appear to take more responsible positions and say fewer irresponsible and self-destructive things. Republicans believed Trump would pivot with hope; Democrats believed he would pivot with dread.
Nobody I know believed that Trump would pivot in the opposite direction, becoming even more irresponsible and self-destructive after the conventions.
Did Trump and his campaign managers develop a strategy to attack a Gold Star mother and father? Could any presidential candidate who wants to be elected seem to publicly support Russian espionage against America, and take positions so extreme that a former acting CIA director calls him “an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation”? Would any candidate who actually wants to win make comments about the Second Amendment and a political opponent so that the Secret Service is not happy, the same kind of comments that helped Harry Reid pulverize his Republican opponent into dust in his last reelection campaign?
There has been some speculation in GOP circles about whether Trump might drop out of the campaign. This is possible, but I doubt it. The more likely scenario, if Trump does not want to be elected president, is that he will keep saying and doing things that any freshman political science student in college would know will doom his candidacy, and that after he loses a potential landslide to Hillary Clinton, will shout from the rooftops: “I was robbed!”
I am not saying that I believe Donald Trump is trying to throw the election to Hillary Clinton, but I am saying this is a prospect that is now worth seriously considering if the endless series of Trump blunders and gaffes continues.
Occam’s Razor Again
I am a huge fan of Occam’s Razor, sometimes called Ockham’s razor.
William of Ockham (1287–1347), was an English Franciscan friar, scholastic philosopher and theologian. His principle can be interpreted as stating that among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.
In short, the simplest explanation is the one most likely to be correct.
Competing Assumptions
I did not think this self-imposed destruction would happen, but it was a possibility all along. It is conceivable Trump still wins, but his ego has done enormous damage to his campaign.
Trump could have won easily. Now, it’s a mammoth uphill battle.
Mike “Mish” Shedlock
I think Trump might like to be assinated — go out in a blaze of glory, instead of an ignominious loss. Maybe he’ll dismiss the Secret Service on some pretext [can he do that??], replace them with a Praetorian Guard of his core supporters [KKK/NRA/Minute Men/American Nazi Party]. Or maybe he’ll just go way outside the security bubble and hope someone knocks him off ….
Kevin the FBI wants to talk to you.
Ha! Then again, maybe not because little Kevin doesn’t seem to know how to spell yet!

And Hillary is paying many to attend – money, extra-credit in high schools…..
The boys in the white coats and butterfly nets are on their way too.
The press amplified any “errors” Trump made. May not be really errors but you know.
While at the same time they do not question Hillary and then rig the polls.
I’m pretty sure he still wins though.
This election cycle tells us more about Trump supporters than about Trump himself. I was able to spot a con man by the time I was 28 or so. Millions of Trump supporters have managed to become fully adult without developing this ability to read hucksters. I know people like this in my day to day life. They aren’t bad people, but they are naive and gullible. I’m under no illusion about Clinton being anything but a warmongering neocon tool of wall street… but she’s not a con man clown like Trump, and she would never have stood a chance if the Republicans could have come up with even a second-rate candidate. But they offered up someone literally unelectable, and by default we end up with Clinton.
I got a call early this morning and didn’t have my glasses nearby, so I couldn’t see the number that was calling. I picked it up anyway. The lady on the other side said, “Hello. My name is Hattie and we are doing a short survey that will take up a couple of minutes, would you answer a few questions”?
Me: “OK”.
Her: “Have you been following the Primary Election coverage”?
Me: “A fair amount, yes”
Her: “Did you vote in the Primary”?
Me: “Yes”.
Her: “Do you care to reveal who you voted for”?
Me: “Well… I voted for Trump”.
Her: “Are you still satisfied with that choice, sir”?
Me: “Well, considering everything, yes”.
Her: “Did you watch any of the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia… the speeches”?
Me: “Yes”.
Her: “My last question sir… What do you think of Hillary Clinton now that she is the Democratic nominee”?
Me: “Well, she wouldn’t be my choice, and yes, I know they wanted a woman, but knowing politics, I can tell you that she’s really 48 years too late”.
Her: “Thank you sir for your time and have a good day, bye, bye”.
CLICK.
A half hour later, phone rings, I pick it up.
It’s the same lady, Hattie:
Her: ‘Hello, this is Hattie again, are you the gentleman that I surveyed this morning”?
Me: “Yes, I’m the one”.
Her: “I’m sorry to have to call back again, but I have just one more question…. it’s not on my list of questions that they gave me, it’s my own.
Do you still remember the last question I asked you before completeing the survey… You know, what you thought about Hillary Clinton now that she was the nominee and you said you thought she was 48 years too late”?
Me: “Ah, yeah…
Her: “Why 48 years”?
Me: “Sirhan Sirhan’. CLICKKKKkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To answer Mish’s Question: Neither… I think massive voter fraud. it’s all about the Hillary (The Owners) narrative support from the big money banks, military industrial complex, ect… that is designed to create the illusion that Hillary really won. If we could get at the truth, I think it will really end up:
Trump 38%
Voters against Hitlary 30%
Voters for Hiltlary 20%
and quack votes for the other 2 candidates at about 12%
Published results will be: Trump 34%, Hitlary 54%, the other 2, 12%.
No, it’s worse. Hillary is a criminal, as exposed by the FBI news conference, a bribe taker, as exposed by Wikileaks, and a warmonger. Your dog, who wouldn’t be any of those things, would be better than that….
You got it absolutely right, Pyrrhus. The choice is obvious.
Perhaps the mainstream media (MSM) knows in its heart that Hillary is morally unfit to continue her political rise, and by lining up 99% against Trump is using reverse psychology to keep Trump the anti-candidate and fuel his come-from-behind underdog victory. The Hill guy is an entertainingly good propaganda writer, which is good for media sales; but not very convincing on anything substantive. MSM was similarly one-sided favoring Bush II, Iraq II, and Saddam’s nonexistent Weapons of Mass Destruction. MSM has lost any and all credibility. Post-Brexit, MSM still does not get it, and no doubt will keep trumpeting the Big Bad Wolf Trump theme until the bitter end. Like the Old Order that lost power after World War I, the MSM is sealing its own demise, which will be good for all.

Let me guess Phil: You believe in global warming too right?
Tell us more about your vaunted gifts of bull shiet detection. Cause mine is going off when you say you have this talent.
Your detector is faulty.
The debates will determine the winner, especially the first one. There is also 3-4 months left.. the world can be full of surprises {aka WikiLeaks}. If Trump comes off as competent in the debates, or if Hillary comes off even more shrill, Trump will win. A mannequin would get 40% vs Hillary. I seriously doubt most undecided Americans tune in until the debates begin.
Trump didn’t get to where he is in the business world by being stupid. Many people expected him to get washed out of the GOP Primary by halftime. He proved them all wrong. The man thinks about 4 moves ahead of everybody else. I don’t think he’s intentionally throwing the election. The media and the movers and shakers in the GOP are doing their damnedest to sabotage the Trump campaign and open the back door to the White House for Hitlery. They don’t want a change maker with the executive powers in the Oval Office. They want more of the same so they can continue to ransack the system. Trump is crazy like a fox. Never count him out. The game has only started. And I think he’s holding 3 Aces. I wish I could fast forward to Oct. 20, 2016. I think we’d see a completely different race that we’re seeing today. Trump knows there’s a ton of dirt on Hitlery. And he’s going to use it to his best advantage. Stay tuned.
Touche
LF your comments are so good they deserve two touches.
Oops.
Touche.
Touche.
Mish, you acknowledge folks like Nate Silver are just Hillary marketers in disguise, but then you believe polls and media opinions. What gives — are you really this naive?
There was an article posted somewhere I forget, where another “insider” said most of the polling companies were taking instructions from the DNC. This should not be surprising to anyone given the emails about how they sabotaged Sanders.
One of the few remaining “clean” polls he listed was Rasmussen. Notice how real clear politics stopped including Rasmussen polls right around the convention. But you can still go to their web site and read. Clinton is ahead BY 3 POINTS, despite this so called self destruction. Let’s all simmer down and just watch the clown show for another 2 months.
The Occam’s razor here is every media outlet is doing a full court press for Hillary. Brexit was gonna lose too.
The Trump and Clinton poll numbers are all cyclical.
Hillary’s high-low-high cycle around 50 days. Trump’s cycle is 60 days.
Hillary’s poll numbers should temporarily peak on Tuesday August 16th.
Trump’s poll numbers temporarily bottom August 26th.
Trump should have an advantage near election as his poll numbers have a longer run higher in terms of days than Hillary.
I think if Trump is close (within margin of error) about a month out that he can win popular vote.
Haven’t studied in depth electoral vote, but a cursory look leads me to believe it is much closer than it looks on the surface.
With cycle theory you would expect lots of negative talk about Trump “blowing it” or election being nearly “out of reach” right before numbers start to turn.
Trump says stuff so dumb and outrageous that you have to wonder. If he simply kept his mouth shut he would lead the polls b/c Clinton is very much hated, unelectable and therefore easy to beat.
In addition to the 2 choices (self destructed and wanting out) I think a 3rd choice might be that he simply lost his mind being in the early stages of having some dementia.
Unless Gary Johnson can pull off a miracle looks like we’re stuck with Clinton and more wars and more bank bailouts.
You have to differentiate what Trump actually says, versus what the mainstream media (MSM) reports. The two are polar opposites. An example is the recent Huffington and Washington Post headline “news” stories that Trump Urges Assassination of Hillary Clinton. Supermarket tabloid headlines are now mainstream media staples. Then Washington Post follows up with “Words Count” story referencing its lies about Trump calling for Hillary’s assassination. That is how the case against Trump is being built in the MSM, on a foundation of lies. Worked well for the MSM cheer-leading for the Iraq II invasion based on nonexistent Iraqi weapons of mass deception. Also worked well under Sec. of State Hillary for the “humanitarian NATO bombing” of Libya back to the Stone Age to prevent a massacre by a Libyan leader murdered by Hillary-supported mercenaries (Benghazi, ISIS). MSM, Hillary and Neo-con/War Party propaganda should all be treated skeptically.
Trump could take a vow of silence, and the mainstream media will still be making up lies about what Trump said. As the early founders of the republic said, the only thing worse than a scurrilous lying media is the lack of a free press. So, there you have it. Check it yourself. Watch a full unfiltered Trump interview and you will see a different Trump bearing little resemblance to the portrayals in the Washington Post and other media propaganda outlets.
Let’s stick with the facts. Trump did start the argument about the dead soldier and his parents. He did call Obama the founder of ISIS when it was Bush jr.’s failed policies with the friendly support of Clinton. Trump made inflammatory statements about Latinos and women for no good reason. That’s not the evil mainstream media making that up, I heard it first hand directly from his mouth.
Rule number one if you want to win an election: Don’t insult the majority of the electorate.
Same mistake the arrogant Romney made when he called 47% of Americans losers.
See, it’s very simple, if you want to win an election, don’t insult the people whose vote you want. You also need typically > 50% of the votes to win. So if you need to insult somebody, make sure it is a not well liked minority. Neither women nor Latinos fit that profile.
Insulting the parents of a fallen soldier is just the absolute height of ignorance.
Apparently on Yoksi’s planet, the people who work hard everyday **NOT** to put classified info on insecure servers deserve to be insulted?
Apparently Yoksi “forgot” that Hilary left an ambassador and multiple special forces soldiers to die in Benghazi — just to cover up Obama’s shipping weapons to Syria’s ISIS. You are really going to suggest that isn’t a major insult?
Apparently Yoksi forgot that destroying evidence is illegal, Breaking the tape seal on a crime scene (lets assume Hilary didn’t have Vince Foster killed, evidence not withstanding). Law enforcement isn’t a joke that Hilary can ignore whenever it suits her.
And to Joelg5’s point — Yoksi failed to refute that the media made up a lot of stupid shit (while covering up Hilary’s crimes).
Lying isn’t going to get you any votes Yoksi. Hilary is a traitor and a liar — has been for decades.
Until you open up each media poll and see that they have all been ironically coordinated, weighted at +8 for Dem’s and underweighted at -10 for independents.
Huh…
I’m voting trump, but if this is all just a joke. I hope he rots in hell for making a mockery of america’s people and future.
I’m really disappointed in Trump. I thought he’d bring out all the data and the rubber chicken graphs and man-splain everything that has been going on to the people. Some are clueless, most are much worse. Everything taken into consideration, it’s much more important that you vote against the big C.
-1 for sanctimony. American politics deserves all the scorn one can heap on it.
I like Trump—the bottom line is what he is talking about is what this country needs: get our out of control balance sheet back under control, and wage a serious effort against ISIS and restore law & order to our streets. If HilLIARy wins expect more terrorism & worse, plus further downgrades to our credit ratings. If we sell out like Bernie did, making a deal with the devil–it never turns out to be a bargain…
Mish it’s far too earlier to call an election. It’s much closer than we expect. These polls are ridiculous: Some Poll have Trump receiving just 1% of the African American Vote. Even Romney received 5%.
The media has certainly been on the rampage against Trump… and Mish himself already pointed out that Reuters had to rig their polling system to keep Hilary in the race.
Lets be a little more honest here folks: no one is watching TV during August. We are at the beach, on the boat, at the lake house… or parked in front of the air conditioner.
This year, we have some of the worst, amateur reporting from the olympics — perhaps ever. Ratings are way off, and one has to wonder what the hell NBC was thinking having its on-air personalities spend so much time whining about their political beliefs.
I wanted to watch the olympics. I wanted to watch the athletes, the sports, etc. I don’t give a shit who Matt Lauer is voting for in November, and certainly don’t want to hear him nagging between endless commercials.
If Trump understands ratings (see Apprentice, etc) … he would let Hilary lie cheat and steal in August. Exhaust herself with her own corruption and stupidity. Mohamed Ali called it rope-a-dope.
In September, when people resume paying attention to the garbage on TV — then he would come out swinging. Hilary’s email mess just keeps getting worse and worse; the CIA guys have to be wondering if she blew their covers even if the FBI is on the take; the bribes and extortion money going into the Clinton Foundation are raising eyebrows in countries well accustomed to corruption.
And no matter how many dumb sounding excuses James Comey and Loretta Lynch make — Hilary is still guilty of treason. Other individuals were prosecuted (by Comey himself) over less.
Americans have short attention spans, even more so the group that watches lots of TV. Why would any smart person waste their ad spending in August?
PS — Trump is far from an ideal candidate, but turning the entire US into the next Chicago (record homocide rate in 2016) is a lot worse than having gaudy, nouveau riche buildings with Trumps ego all over them.
My family may not enjoy it, but we are safe in an ugly pretentious building. Not safe in a corrupt municipality. Its the economy and the safety of our families stupid!
The above Hill article is beyond ridiculous. The writer is spewing Neocon BS. Does the author really want us to start WW3 over Estonia. Who cares what the former Obama CIA director say’s.
Trump never encouraged espionage. I’m really disappointed in this blog. referencing a silly Hill article.
People believe in Trump way too much. And yes, this is reality and Trump is not going to pull some sort of miracle and change the polls. He’s never been able to control his mouth. What makes you think he will suddenly stop talking nonsense?
People don’t expect Trump to stop mouthing off.
We do expect the president to obey US laws and keep classified info off insecure servers. We expect the president not to sacrifice ambassadors and soldiers lives just to cover up weapons transfers. We expect the president not to lie about absolutely everything — from her scam marriage to her failed “accomplishments”. And we don’t like hearing that every critic somehow has an “accidental death” that gets explained by a bullshit story in a spineless media.
Murdering critics is something we expect from mafia familes, not the leader of the free world.
We expect and require a president not to collect bribes for their family foundation.
Trump isn’t our first choice — he is the only remaining option to having a crime syndicate fuck up our country. We have very low expectations for him, other than not turning the land of the free into a third world banana republic filled with corruption.
Mouthing off on TV is the least of our worries — Trump pissing off media personalities is if anything a plus.
RE: “Trump pissing off media personalities is if anything a plus.”
TOUCHE!
Like typical psychopaths, the media just can not stop taking the bait!
“Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out.” – I, Claudius (TV series)

Trump is a lot more aware than everyone else of the situation, he makes a point of it every time he speaks, and often it is a blue state that he should never be able to carry. Notice he’s stopped running against Hitlary and I doubt whether he’ll participate in any debates. Why should he, she’s not his target, the system she represents is. He’s not going to release his tax returns. Why should he? The MSM will just use it for cannon fodder. Why give it to them. No. Trump is going after every American that has had it with the rigged systemic failure of both government and finance in America, those American’s that are on the outside looking in and those who are on the edge or close to it. Everyone knows there is a growing problem and that problem is the government, and this realization is going to grow and grow between now and November 8th.
Trump is on it mon, he sees it. He’s leading a Revolution that has already occurred, he’s just getting in front of the parade.
The problem with everyone is they don’t see it, they still think the MSM tells them the truth even though if you poll them, they’ll say they don’t, but by their actions they still do. It’s kind of a fatalist self fulfilling prophecy of failure and Trump is hoping, he’s betting that he can wake America out of its malaise by capitalizing upon a crashing economy; does this mean he needs the economy to tank… Goddamn Right! And I think he’s going to get what he’s wished for, the guy is a lot smarter than people give him credit. He’s just telling it like it is and if that’s not good enough, well, tough shit, you can lament your own stupidity should Hitlary get elected and continue down the road of O’Bummerman betraying America.
The truth is if Trump is elected we have a chance. If Hitlary is elected we’ll be going to WWIII and a Revolution at home and things are going to get way beyond crazy, people like me are going to have to leave the country or end up in a prison camp or worse. Don’t think it can’t happen because it is as I write this epistle. Serfs Up America! You can tune in to The Daily Lie of Omission on uTube at eanc.tv and catch Liberty Legislation at scienceofliberty.us. Good Luck
Looks like this year will be no different for me… I’m back to voting against a Presidential candidate… Trump seems weak, but it’s against Hillary, the Big C, is who I’m voting against.
Voting against record:
1988 – hated Bush and Dukakis, voted for Thomas Jefferson (dead was better).
1992 – hated Bush, Clinton, and NAFTA – voted for Ross Perot (an actual vote for).
1996 – hated Clinton – reluctantly voted for Dole.
2000 – hated Gore and Bush – voted for Mickey Mouse.
2004 – hated Bush (aka Curious George by then) and hated FrankenKerry – Voted Lib Party
2008 – hated obama – voted for McCain even though I hated him, but less.
2012 – still hated obama – thought Mitt wasn’t shit but used him in retaliation
So… who are you voting AGAINT in November?
I’m not voting for anyone, I’m voting against Hitlary, the the worst pathological lying crook candidate that ever was. I would like to vote for Gary Johnson but voting for The Donald is a more effective vote against certain doom.
The Donald said the other day “I’m not running against Hillary; I’m running against the MSM.” That is very true.
You can hold your nose while looking at a gaudy pretentious monument to one man’s ego — and be safe and hold a job to support our family. Maybe el-presidente says something that pisses off the media personalities, could be entertaining or could make you switch to music.
**Or** you can dodge bullets like the happy residents of Chicago — 700 homicides this year, under the strictest gun control laws in the country. Riots once or twice a month, where some poorly educated fool goes on the TV and demands “free shit” (paid for by the government taking from you and your family).
You must obey all laws, even when they conflict. Treason is illegal for you and for military personnel, but its OK for political cronies. If you destroy evidence in an investigation, you are going to jail. But if the crooked president does it, media personalities will trip over one another to make excuses. Accepting bribes and extortion money into your family trust is fine — only if you have the political connections to back it up… And of course, terrorism is bad when some people do it, but when George Soros sponsors the terror its OK.
You will be forced to pay for overpriced medical care for millions of illegal immigrants — while legal immigrants and citizens get raped (figuratively and literally).
* * * *
Your children will be debt slaves either way.
Not sure if you hate gaudy buildings, but they seem a lot safer than the alternative
Funny you mentioned overpriced medical care… here’s something from a swing trader’s web site.
Why There’s No Weekly Video This Week
Most of you don’t care but if you want to know why I’m not doing the Saturday night show this week, continue reading.
My wife has been in and out of emergency and the hospital this week. I’ve been taking care of her and my daughters this week so no Saturday weekly video. I brought her home from the hospital last night so she is at home now and hopefully she can continue to keep food down.
The third time I met the ambulance at Emergency with her, the hospital said they have no more beds and that we would have to wait. My wife and I waited in the emergency room for hours while she screamed in pain, vomiting every 1 minute or so. I saw many Mexicans in the Emergency waiting room who were probably not even legal citizens, and many were certainly on ObamaCare. I pay $1,200 a month for my wife’s healthcare plan and that same plan over the ObamaCare Exchange is given out at $50 per month. I live in Fresno (some call it Little Mexico) with a high illegal Mexican population, and so the negative effects of ObamaCare are felt here.
How ironic that I just did an article on ObamaCare last week here. Folks, I feel that ObamaCare almost killed my wife this week. Obama and Democrats have completely broken our healthcare system. I’m not being political and I don’t think Obama and Democrats intentionally tried to break the healthcare system as I wrote about the mistake Democrat economists made here. As it says in Luke 14:28-30…
But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’
Thanks for visiting! If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to GuerillaStockTrading or follow me on YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook.
About half of the public is laughing at Obama and Democrats because they incorrectly figured in the costs to society of ObamaCare even though they were warned repeatedly by Republican economists. The only problem is, it’s not funny at all when you are in need of emergency medical care. As Margaret Thatcher once said, “No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he’d only had good intentions; he had money as well.”
Warning: if you live in an area with a lot of lower income people and illegal immigrants from Mexico, you could die while waiting in the Emergency room for up to 18 hours to be seen.
JOHNSON’S GREAT SOCIETY traded in for
OBAMA’S GREAT GHETTO SOCIETY
@Greg — like
I live in California, so it doesn’t matter who I vote against.
Proud non-voter since 2003. Just because they hold elections doesn’t mean you have to vote. Don’t vote — you will feel cleaner than you ever felt after a 30-minute shower. Don’t vote, it just validates the power-mad. Voting is violence, it is the means by which one forces others to live by one’s own worldview.
If voting could change anything, they’d make it illegal, so said Emma Goldmann or was it Mark Twain, he said everything..
If no one voted, the false premise of popular sanction would be exposed for the lie it is — and then they would make NOT voting illegal.
Now get out there and do your sacred civic duty that thousands of veterans died to protect and vote those criminals and charlatans into office so you can dance like marionettes on their strings and may God bless you and the United States of America.
Me, I’ll sit this one out. You know, freedom and shit.
I have voted Libertarian since 1980, when I met Ed Clark. This year I’ll be voting against Johnson, and against Trump. I despise Hillary, too, but I haven’t decided whether to vote against her, too. I may not vote at all, which would be a first.
Good luck with that Ostrich Position, Carl. The trouble with your position is…ONE of them WILL be running this place next January…..and…
When THAT happens, why would you want that vulnerable part of your body stuck up so high in the air ? They won’t even have to bend you over – you’re doing it FOR them….
Hillary of Trump…? With which would you have a BETTER chance of NOT getting taken advantage of…..?
Which one would I have a better chance of not getting taken advantage of? No doubt there, Hillary. Hillary is corrupt, and will take hers off the top, but she at least recognizes the need to keep the country running. She and Bill learned that back in their first Arkansas term. The country did run reasonably well under the Clintons the first time. I only hope that if she is elected at least one house of Congress stays Republican to keep her in check. I see nothing good that could come from a Trump presidency.
IMO, media seems to be doing an hatchet job on him. Only at the end of the elections you will know whether it has worked or not.
In my mind one thing is certain. Knowing all that we know about Hitlery – the malfeasance, the corruption, the horrendous judgment, the criminality, the pay for play, etc – if she gains access to the White House and holds the highest office in the land we are in much bigger trouble than most understand. I believe it would be evidence that we’ve been taken over by nefarious forces that are acting against the best interests of the American people. It’s often said that the fish rots from the head. What situation would more accurately describe that saying than Hitlery being our new Commander in Chief? Arrghh.
Although it’s possible Trump has risen to his level of incompetence, I know he’s also probably doing something I have had to deal with my entire adult life; he is playing the sympathy card. By the time September rolls around, the collective psyche of this nation will be feeling so guilty for being so hard on him that I bet even Hillary will start being nice to him. She needs to be really careful now. If that happens, he has her by the b@lls. Trump is the kind of personality that knows how to manipulate emotions better than any of us “normal” people. It’s quite amazing to watch him operate on such a grand scale.
…but one never knows. Trump is playing a dangerous game with real consequences. Knowing what I know about how these people play with other’s emotions, anything could literally happen.
If anyone really wants to know who to vote for in this election, start paying attention to what each candidate has actually accomplished in their life; what have they actually gotten done? Buying into this media-fueled emotional circus will only cloud everyone’s judgment. Sticking to the facts is the only way one can deal with this rationally.
I think he’s doing quite fine.
Have you seen the ABC instant poll, more than 100,000 votes (not the usual 500), with Trump at 69% and Hillary nowhere? Stop reading the New York Slimes….
Those online polls are a good indicator of how fired up your base is. Repubs absolutely hate Hillary and pretty much every one will bother to get out and vote. Many Dems, however, are miffed by Bernie getting torpedoed by Hillary and I’ll wager a large number of the BernieOrBust crowd will simply not bother to vote. It’s Trumps to lose is my make.
Lots of Bernie supporters have already stated they will vote for Trump –
just to stick it to Hillary the Queen of Corruption.
Stolen Elections have Consequences.
I’m surprised by you Mish, normally you see things for how they really are, not the spin. Trump’s decline is all spin.
Take John McCain, the “Toyko Rose” of Vietnam (see: http://www.unz.com/runz/american-pravda-when-tokyo-rose-ran-for-president/). He is not a war hero, he’s a fraud. Trump knows this but unlike most others, he’s not afraid of the “PC” SJW appeasing taboo of “always support the troops.”
Idiots see things like Trump going after McCain and smugly think that Trump is the dumb one, but when people look up the facts, they are almost always forced to admit “Trump was right.”
Trump is running on something that hasn’t been palpable in society for a very long time: Truth. Every time he tells the truth, it creates a media firestorm, but wins over a lot of people who know that truth.
Sure, he could be just another boring politician, reading from carefully pre-screened scripts from a telepromter, so he never screws up, but then what would he be?
So your Occam’s Razor poll is garbage. Trump never changed a thing. What actually happened is that the media doubled down on going after him once his poll numbers reached a certain threshold. He has not destructed and he is not “throwing the election.”
Society reacts funny to truth. The famous quote “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” Seems apt. With Trump, we are at the laughing / fighting stage. What happens next?

Occam’s razor indeed.
Lets apply it.
Trump is a close friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Ivanka is a very close friend of Chelsea.
And the razor says ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. Donald J. Trump is an operative of the House of Clinton in the 2016 election.
I believe Trump is in the process of not only ‘throwing’ the presidential election but delivering a kill shot to the Republican Party, turning the Senate, House and many statehouses Democrat.
In short, the most unusual and successful political operation in US history.
(His payoff should be immense.)
You get nothing by throwing an election for President of the United States…the whole exercise in “Democracy” this go around sure seems like a total fiction tho…I agree with that.
Bernie Sanders had both California and Massachusett’s Primaries stolen from him…and not a peep.
You either walk the walk in this game or take your toys and go home.
No one is “friends” with the Clintons. They’re totally up front about being politicians for hire and not only have never hid this fact but never will.
When you pay for The Clintons I would argue you’re being WAYYYYYYY overbilled though.
Why not just lose all your money gambling in the stock market like everyone else?
Then the Clintons come running to YOU instead!
Blow up your Bank, blow up your State’s “rainy day fund”, blow up the entire life insurance industry, suicide all the Veterans in your War for Profit scheme.
Whoo-hoo! Clinton Cash to the rescue!
Yeah she”ll be charging across the Russian Steppe to take Moscow all right.
The fact is the Clintons are just greedier than Donald Trump…which Americans love even more than a really rich guy.
TOUCHE!
RE: “Bernie Sanders had both California and Massachusett’s Primaries stolen from him…and not a peep.”
That’s a good argument for voting for Hillary.. Basically you are saying Hillary is the Jason Bourne of politics. She not only won the Democratic nomination but also set up the Republican nomination. This implies the Republican party is so gullible, so stupid and unfit that there is a case that anyone in it is unfit for office and anyone associated with it should be suspect.
You know what else that implies? That Obama is even greater since he was able to take the nomination away from Hillary 8 years ago.
You are telling us that somehow there’s been an amazing sociological filter that has directed all the stupid in this country into the Republican Party.
LOL Thanks for the laugh.
“Donald J. Trump is an operative of the House of Clinton in the 2016 election.”
FALSE
Thanks for the laugh. LOL
“Trumps payoff would be immense”???!! Are you smokin’ sumptin?
Trump is a multi-billionaire (probably). He would FOREVER in all history – BE A LOSER…
And he would do that for what? $100 Million? $500 million? A gazillion? NO, not ever for money…..
Think about it – it won’t be for money. Not enuff in the whole world.

It is possible that Trump’s ‘gaffes’ are statements taken out of context for the purpose of ridiculing him. But we won’t know for sure until the debate.
One problem Trump has is that the best reason, IMHO, to vote against Hillary is her warmongering. But the whole rest of the GOP is guilty of warmongering so that attacking her on it will infuriate Republicans too.
I have no intention of voting for either one of them. But, I am convinced Hillary will get US into (nuclear) war with Russia. So, if she wins, I am moving to Oregon which is the safest state to be in if there is an all out nuclear war.
The fact that Gary Johnson would have more than 2% in the Presidential candidate polls is a testament to the decline of America.
Johnson is nothing more than a weak-kneed GOP retread who would prove to be just another ‘go along to get along’ puppet for the BIG MONEY.
His claim to fame is his advocacy for the legalization of pot. ha. Add that to the fervor about guns, gays and God which should be at the very bottom of the nation’s priority list. We face HUGE problems on the financial and health care fronts.
It’s shameful that the Libertarians can’t find a more genuine and decent candidate to represent their Party in the elections. They keep bringing this loser back again and again and again. How are we supposed to take them seriously?
Just another reason not to join the Libertarians.
Libertarians are not libertarians.
Trump is learning. Also he lives by a few guiding principles:
1. Only strike out if your opponent strikes first. Trump always goes second. He’s a counterpuncher.
2. Save your good stuff for the last few weeks before the election. Otherwise you get parried by “That’s old news”, “Asked and answered.” Type responses. It’s death to be stale.
3. Never underestimate the importance of serendipitous surprise events. In business you learn you can practically count on them. Thus always be flexible and prepared to exploit them when they arise. That means no painting yourself into any corners. Think more wikileaks, a market crash, FBI leaks, health crisis for HRC, self destructive comment from Bill, etc. it’s still a good time to focus on nonsense and wait. This Trump seems to be doing. Good.

Whew. Sure are a whole lot of Trump Chumps here. So all of you think you know more than all the major Republicans abandoning Trump and switching to Clinton?
It’s going to be a long four years for you guys after Clinton wins by a landslide!
I’m so confident in Clinton winning, I’ve been taking $100 wagers from Chumps for Trump. This is like taking money from babies. Looks like I am going to be rich. Yahoo!!

I hope I’m wrong but it looks to me like Rome is one or two elections away from seizing control of America. Agenda 2030 ~ here we come.
Why so much discussion about what finally is a lose-lose situation for the US of A?
Its just the next step from bad-to-worse or worse-to-terrible in a long, unbroken line of presidents in recent times.
Isn’t anyone able or willing to see the bigger picture?
How the US goes from a potential Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders showdown for President to this steaming pile of idiocy and corruption is a mystery known only to those who orchestrate US democracy.
I am wondering if trump has figured out that he can make more money down the road if hill wins.
Well in the primaries he did ‘loan’ his campaign $50M and said he would forgive the loan in the general election. Now there’s been reports that $50M in cash has vanished from his campaign but he doesn’t seem to be spending it on either ads or local offices. I’d be curious to know what the interest rate he set on the ‘loan’ he made to the campaign, perhaps he’s found a way to use campaign donations as a return on investment.
Running against Hillary (or Obama) is like playing chess with a Wookie
Bribery, extortion, treason, murders … more like playing chess against a mafia crime boss
I think he may be doing this on purpose.. to WIN.
Examine Brexit referendum, polls suggested that:
1. slight majority would vote brexit, yet
2. majority believed bremain would win anyway
this way bremain people stayed home and brexit voters were motivated.
Perhaps he’s drawing parallels between his election and brexit. He wants Trump-protesters and Bernie-supporters stay home, knowing they’re not happy with Hillary anyway and vote only because of himself. So if those people believe he’s finished and lose interest in voting, and his supporters feel motivated, he could win.
I love reading the comments from the old white men echo chamber. I have news for all you old white men, it’s not your country any more and it’s never going to be. If you have a problem with that then just get your trusty sidearm and do America a favor right now. Otherwise start going to Spanish class and embrace the future. Or just keep whining like little bitches on forums like this one. It’s what you do best.
Don’t like the fact you are voting for a mafia crime boss? or don’t like that the fact that the last crime boss didn’t give you more free shit that you didn’t earn?
Some white people do very well in south american corruption regimes — crime isn’t as racist as Obama
Hello old white man.
This is what I predicted would happen back months ago. Trump has the solid support of about 35% of Republicans, which was easily enough to win a crowded primary, but it’s only about 17% of the general election. He has made no effort yet to broaden that support, so his numbers are slipping back towards his core support of 17%..
Is it intentional? Is he trying to throw the election? That isn’t impossible. I can’t rule it out. He is, after all, a lifelong Democrat. But in the end that question is irrelevant. Whether intentional or not, he appears on his way to a landslide loss of epic proportions. The other question I raised in the primary is whether his loss this fall will be so large that he will cost Republicans all the other races in the election. At this point I’m inclined to think he will cost the Republicans the House, the Senate (and consequently the Supreme Court), and most statehouses and local elections as well.
This pseudo analysis brought to us by the same people who were certain Brexit would never happen, and later were equally certain that Brexit would result in instant economic chaos.
Your reign of corruption is over losers. We aren’t voting “for” Trump — we just won’t support your corruption. No one expects Trump to do great things, he is just expected to stop the DNC crime syndicate.
Millions of democrats are not criminals, and millions of republicans aren’t war mongers — if any of them had been allowed to run there wouldn’t be so much hatred for Washington DC.
The DNC said corruption or bust — so you are busted.
RE: “Your reign of corruption is over losers. We aren’t voting “for” Trump — we just won’t support your corruption.”
TOUCHE!
Just to be clear, I despise Hillary. I could barely imagine anyone that I wouldn’t vote for over her…except Trump. I long for the post-watergate days when the corrupt were out, and we had honest guys like Ford and Carter.
Clearly you’re in the hardcore Trump group, and that’s fine. I don’t think it’s big enough for him to win, and I think it’s small enough that I fear all the other houses will be swept away, too. The last 8 years hasn’t been too bad because with a Republican Congress, little has gotten done. If the Republican leadership had been competent, the last 8 years would have been even better, but it wasn’t.
While you’re still reveling in Trump’s politics, contemplate what will happen if I’m right, and Hillary wins big, and takes over Congress and the statehouses as well. It will be a disaster. Also, i have to ask, why do you think Trump is less corrupt than Hillary? He strikes me as right on a par with her.
Carl — do you have any evidence of Trump committing treason? Does he maintain an illegal email server? Has he cut crime scene tape at the white house to remove evidence (after Vince Foster’s death)? White water? Travel gate? Massive over-billing and fraud at Rose Law firm? How about making $100K on chicken futures with no experience (lots of insider info) and then quitting cold turkey? Taking bribes from foreign countries (calling them speaking fees only fools the morons). Hilary has lied so many times even her supporters are worried about it. Her husband’s behavior makes a mockery of women.
Trump is an egotistical ass with no verbal filter. His buildings are gaudy looking to be nice. But his employees are happy and their paychecks clear. The buildings are safe and clean. He said he would fix the Wollman skating rink and he did.
It isn’t that I like Trump — I don’t. I just can’t stand overt corruption, and I don’t want my children being sent to war against Russia because Soros donated some money to the Clinton Tax-fraud Foundation.
And if I needed any other reason to vote against Hilary — the assholes on TV are making a full court press and telling lies to get her into office. The political establishment wants her in office bad enough to lie cheat and steal — which tells anyone with a brain cell that they will demand special treatment once she gets there
The majority will vote against corruption, against endless wars, and against endless taxes on the middle class…. its just we have limited ways to express that view.
Trump sucks as a candidate. Many fell for his childish campaign- i.e. Lieing Ted, Little Marco etc. The American voter is too unsophisticated to vote in a good candidate. Ted Cruz would have been an awesome president. Too bad too many are too stupid to see it.
Say “Hi” to Hillary.
Trump sucks as a candidate, Hilary sucks as a human being.
“Meteor Strike 2016 — just end it already” is dominating the polls
Let’s add choice 3 to MISH’s poll:
Trumps numbers are pure propaganda by the media.
The reported poll numbers don’t pass the sniff test. I’ve observed more signs on front yards for Trump than Hillary in Connecticut (a fairly liberal state). I’ve seen more homemade signs on truck tailgates for Trump than Hillary.
Natural Pols take offence at that.
Oh, Polls. Yes, all those supporting Democrats are lies.
Mish, I don’t believe you really thought anyone would take this posting serious.
We have you pegged as a Trump Supporter!

There is no question Trump is imploding.
It’s possible he pulls it out, just very difficult.
I would never vote for Hillary
Do you have any evidence to support that claim?
Beyond Reuters, every opinion poll is showing both candidates EXACTLY where they were before the “conventions” — which makes sense because both conventions were fait accompli. As one example:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/194552/trump-clinton-favorability-back-pre-convention-levels.aspx?g_source=POLITICS&g_medium=topic&g_campaign=tiles
Hilary has barely regained a slight lead (very slight) after a month of full court press from corrupt media outlets. If Trump was “imploding” as you claim, his numbers would be lower and/or Liar’s numbers would be much higher… they are not. The race for sewer monarch remains close to a tie.
BOTH candidates are polling less favorably than election losers in past elections… BOTH candidates suck in the opinion of the general public, BOTH candidates are seen as unfit for office.
The clear winner right now is: “Meteor strike 2016 — just end it already” — which has the support about 60-65% of both Dems and Reps voters
It is just like Brexit.
It was “imploding” also just a week before – and all they days – leading up to the vote.

W H Y ??? Why would Trump get into this if not to win? He doesn’t need. Not like Hillary does.
He will FOREVER be known as a LOSER! I don’t see that his ego will like THAT!
As you pointed out, Trump’s ego is way too big to throw in the towel. Mish was fooled by a media propaganda.
Trumps numbers aren’t imploding, they are unchanged since before the fait accompli national conventions — and that is after a solid month of media outlets trashing him and kissing up to the crime boss… ’cause they are so neutral and objective.
The only thing truly imploding is voters faith in the system — both candidates favorability ratings are way below the *losers* in past elections.
Right BillyBob Texas.
Trump has lived forth-rightly all his life. He is a man of integrity.
The MSM have been re-cycling this old, tired stupid and dumb meme “He’ll drop out” since June 2015.
The MSM will be bankrupt after election 2016 –
and I wish their parent, subsidizing companies would be too.
Here’s my (cynical) version of Occam’s razor:
Obama’s election in 2008 cost at least $1 billion. The 2012 elections total spend was about $5.6 billion (both parties and all races), according to my quick Google search.
The media needs that cash. They’ve budgeted for it, and are pushing hard to get their chunk of it. The last thing they want is for someone to get too far ahead, because if that were to happen the candidate might not spend that money. And it should be obvious that “outsider” candidate Bernie Sanders (who didn’t really have a snowball’s chance against the Democratic party machine), only got as far as he did because he made Hillary spend money in the primaries. That underdog story not only got people interested (and watching), but forced Clinton to open up the pocketbook.
I don’t think Trump is going to be president, don’t really have an opinion about how good a president he would be anyway. For sure if he is elected it will get the Congress to wake up and start doing their duty to reign in the Executive branch, which might be a good enough reason to vote for him. But the 4th quarter ad buys are coming in now, and there’s no harm in beating up on Trump to help bolster the spend. These people aren’t stupid, they know when they bash Trump it gets the “regular” people on his side. Hollywood has programmed us to root for the underdog and the outsider. It worked for Sanders in the primary, it will work again in the general elections. And I predict we’ll see Johnson in the debates, for the same reason, just to put the screws to Trump if he doesn’t step up and pay up.
As for all you people who still believe there’s a “Chinese Wall” between the newsroom and the ad sales department, ask yourself why no one ever questions anything to do with drug companies or the horrid American diet (other than some new “research” that tells us what we want to hear). Yellow journalism didn’t die, it just went dormant for a few years thanks to consolidation. Now that they’re losing market share to new media it’s game on.
Last I checked, TV ratings for the olympics were a disaster. The three execs I know at a cable TV company are stressed out of their minds about “cord cutters”. TV ad growth has a negative sign in front of it, while ad-free entertainment mediums are doing quite well.
The number one internet browser add-on (sorry Mish) is Ad blocker, though it is getting competition from software that doesn’t allow Facebook and others to buy their way onto a white list.
For all the nonsense and screaming — loud mouth (shock jock?) Howard Stern was “forced off the air” and now has many multiples of paying subscribers on satellite radio. the network radio stations are all struggling — forced consolidation and forced syndication of radio shows from ‘big cities”, and Stern’s ratings numbers still trounce the networks who panned him. This isn’t an endorsement of Stern’s show, it is only proof that the media outlets defeated themselves.
The customer is always right, even if the customer is “low brow” in the arrogant opinion of media executives. Media pundits are paid tens of millions of dollars, get driven everywhere in armored limousines, have a half dozen “personal assistants” catering to their every whim (plus agents and producers) — they can’t possibly relate to the general public.
Not sure how media pundits constantly insulting their viewers / listeners is going to change this trend. Arrogance didn’t save the newspaper business.
Frank, have you seen this report?
The U.S. Public is giving the old Lie-stream Media (the Dodo media) the deep six.

That is pageview visits **** FROM FACEBOOK ****
The company was caught censoring and filtering conservative viewpoints, while pushing left wing viewpoints to their “top stories” list. Zuckerberg promised he is going to make his staff be more open — but there was no timeframe and the guy is an admitted Hilary pusher.
Last week it was disclosed that Twitter has multiple algorithms to filter anything that isn’t glowing praise of Obama / Hilary. Probably too late to save the stock or that company.
Facebook censors what they allow on their site. Anyone paying attention already knew that. Twitter’s censorship was too obvious to be ignored.
Both companies are based in Pelosi-ville San Francisco.
Why don’t you show TOTAL page views, instead of showing the people who only use facebook?
PS — I would also add the fiasco that “Duck Dynasty” had with their media outlet.
A bunch of hollywood types put some “back woods hicks” on TV, expecting the hicks to be the butt of a bad joke. From the beginning the family that ‘stars’ on the show made it very clear they took their religious beliefs as serious as they took their hunting.
Like it or not, the show is literally the only thing on A&E that anyone watches — it is the channel.
So the family patriarch did an interview on whatever night show, saying he thinks homosexuality is a sin. That is his religious belief, it was since the start of the show. He made no suggestion that gays should be assaulted or threatened in any way. Nothing he said was any different from what he had been saying since the show started.
Embarrassed that the “stupid hicks” had proven to be smarter than the A&E TV execs, the channel banned the guy for expressing his own views. Within a day, it became obvious the show would not continue without the family patriarch, and the TV channel would not survive without the show.
National gay groups condemned the one radical group that tried to bully A&E into censoring other’s viewpoints. The Duck Dynasty patriarch repeated that he wished no harm on gays, but still viewed homosexuality as a sin as per his religious beliefs. If A&E couldn’t tolerate his religion, then A&E’s cash cow would move to another channel.
A&E was forced to fire their idiot executive, they apologized both to the Duck Dynasty family *AND* to gay groups, the one intolerant gay group (in Hollywood of course) lost a lot of supporters — and the show went back on including the family patriarch.
Media outlets say a lot of stupid things, and most of the people running them can’t tolerate each other much less the mud covered masses that actually decide what to watch.
Netflix and Amazon and Redbox and so-forth are popular because viewers (not media executives) get to decide what to watch.
Did you see the Combined Page-Views (which should include Facebook too)?
They don’t call it Facistbook and Half-Twit-ter for no reason…………

“…..it is important to remember: almost all of the professional political punditry already know this stuff – they’re just acting as if they believe the political Potemkin village is real to retain a paycheck.
Back in 2015, when several readers still genuinely believed the Potemkin village was real, we tackled the question of: what would happen if the financial class, the donors who fund the political pantomime, saw Donald Trump as an inevitable candidate?
What we shared over a year ago remains today:
[…] REGARDLESS of the Biden/Clinton battle – the GOPe onslaught against Trump will continue, unrelenting, all the way through the primary and into the general election.
Why?”

I believe a hacker will have the most influence on this election. Not through hacking the voting system, but through releasing additional information, emails, documents etc. already in their possession. The democrats must be petrified by what happened just this weekend alone.
TOUCHE!
Rigged? Rigged in Trump’s favor, maybe. Show HRC ahead, so that her supporters will relax. Say Trump is trying to lose, so that HRC’s supporters will relax. Yeah, rigged.
Or maybe Trump is like Sinatra, wants to do it his way.
Either way he remains a clear and present danger.
Grave and profound positions , not” silliness ” underlie Trump’s decline. Just this weekend, Trump said he might revoke the NY Times credentials. Nothing collateral or petty or funny or humorous about this threat. Never has a president or candidate for high office closed coverage access to a major newspaper’s reporters. He has already decertified the Washington Post. Trump’s unique readiness to constrain the press implicates our interest in learning what our officials and candidates do and say. The 1A is implicated. What is silly about his curtailment of the press? Here, Trump has staked a steady, deliberate, calculated position on a fundamental issue.
I’m not supporting HRC to avoid a clown. I’m supporting her to stop an authoritarian nativist. If he were merely silly, I’d support Johnson.
The above was from Bob Hill, inadvertently posted as Anonymous. Posts, in my opinion, should always say the true name of the poster.
First of all, great war hero John McCain?
Vladimir Putin, the strongman dictator of Russia?
I don’t need to read any further to know this writer is part of the establishment. I concluded about a year ago that Trump would be the sheepdog to Hillary’s barn driving everyone to vote for her. Trump was a multifaceted tool to foment a race war whilst accomplishing said mission. Now, with Trump losing badly all the white folks will be outraged. Either way, the zionists win as they control both candidates.
Trump did seem to mind his ‘p’s & ‘q’s at the recent pastoral conference.
I still can’t get over ‘great war hero’.
As for Putin, he’s been the only sane leader trying to keep the peace and maintaining a cool head that no leader anywhere can come close to matching.
Ultimately, I doubt & question everyone. Perhaps the end game will have Putin joining in on the chaos leading to armageddon.
I think this was all setup ahead of time, there is no way Hillary was going to get elected with her negative numbers unless someone so utterly un-electable was on the other side of the ticket. Problem was it was starting to look like he might actually win so he has to go even more extreme to insure she wins. Their both on the same side.
Trump, soon to be president, doesn’t like to lose at anything!
Mish, you’ve been hoodwinked by the mass media (both left and right) that is scared to death of a Trump presidency.

They may fix the machines to have a much closer outcome for calculated reasons.
Say “Hi” to Hillary Se-Kar.
No one knows what was said between Trump and Bill Clinton in their phone conversation prior to him announcing his candidacy. When this was initially reported, some said Trump was the Manchurian candidate. Now the more we see him self destruct the more likely it is that this was the plan all along. The Clintons know of all their own skeletons in their closet and needed a nominee that they could beat. We know a few things now in hindsight:
– The DNC basically promised Hillary the nomination after her loss in 2008.
– Sanders had no shot as even DNC insiders promoted Clinton
– The mainstream media gave Trump more coverage than any other Republican primary contender. This ensured the buildup to Trump getting the nomination.
– Trump said more bombastic things throughout the primary season with little effect on his eventual nomination.
– Mainstream Republicans couldn’t even stop Trump.
– The RNC couldn’t stand in the way once Trump satisfied their own rules.
– The Clintons are now supported by mainstream Republicans
– Despite saying he would beat Hillary, Trump continues to do things to lose not win.
– The Clintons knew any legitimate Republican would take Hillary to the cleaners in the general election.
My conclusion ? Trump is throwing the election as he promised he would to Bill Clinton in their phone conversation. Trump isn’t a RINO. He is actually a Democrat in Republican clothing. Trump is the only candidate that Clinton can beat and thus it is not an accident he is the nominee. He keeps saying this election could be fixed. Truth be told, it already has been fixed and we’ve just been watching a show.
Mish you said it here : Trump could have won easily. Now, it’s a mammoth uphill battle.
In that statement is the proof that Trump never had the intention of winning and thus proving my point that this election has been fixed all along. Trump in fact has made sure that he can’t win and thus made sure that Hillary will win.
OK not for nothing but the stuff the columnist bashes Trump for doing (bashing Vets), he was doing before he won the nomination. If Trump is being silly for picking on vets who fought for their country today why was he not also silly back when he was trashing McCain for ‘getting caught’?
The columnist asserts that Trump was supposed to pivot towards ‘normal’ after getting the nomination. So after hearing from Trump supporters for months that Trump is great because he gives the middle finger to the establishment, that he isn’t a career politician, that he does things his own way….we are now dismayed because Trump is revealing that his schtick before the nomination is basically what he is about? After hearing that Trump isn’t another GOP establishment guy like Jeb Bush or Romney, we are now shocked and horrified that he is failing to pivot like Bush or Romney would have if they were in his shoes?
It’s like deep down Trump’s biggest contempt is for his own voters and the only one with more contempt for them are the voters themselves.
Say “Hi” to Hillary.
It seems your readers pretty much have it figured out. Why don’t you? The author’s assumption were misleading, and “uphill” is downhill when you remove the bogus polls. The more the media and establishment Republican’s rail against Trump, the more the silent majority will get out and vote for Trump.

Obama: “My Muslim Faith.”
Although I don’t know if it’s “the plan” or whether Trump just doesn’t think about how his words can be attacked before he says them, but the attacks from the press might cause many more Reps and Indies to bother to vote for him no matter how much they don’t like him because they’ll have the perception that so few others will do so due to the attacks by the press which would then guarantee the election of someone they like even less, the North American Cankled Neocon Hildabeast. They’ll feel they need to vote for him to make up for the lower numbers caused by the attacks.
“The downtrend in Trump’s presidential candidacy is now so prolonged that not even the most ardent Trump supporter can deny it.”
What utter nonsense.
The entire establishment, media, polling scams ( try conducting a poll asking for the “youngest voter in the household -as did Pinkerton and compare that to actual results) is in the tank.
Of the ten or so people with whom I discuss politics, three have moved into the Trump camp in the past 6 weeks.
I predict trump will do something near election day to lose. This will confirm my suspicions if so.
