George Galloway, a British Politician, gave an excellent speech last month on the origin of ISIS. He blames the US and the UK, quoting President Obama and former UK prime minister Tony Blair as admitting just that.
“The reason we’ve got ISIS, in Syria is because the same United States and Britain, have been pouring money, material, weapons, political and diplomatic propaganda, support for the ‘rebels’. And every gun and every piece of material that we deliver to the battlefield in Syria ended up in the hands of ISIS or Al Qaeda.”
Galloway opposed the war in Iraq and was expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 for statements on Iraq.
The above Galloway Video was posted last month. I had not seen it. Reader “David” sent the video to me today.
I encourage everyone to play it. And I recommend teachers in every grade from six on up play it for their kids.
You cannot fix a problem unless you know the cause. The cause was US meddling.
It sure would be nice to have a US politician speak as eloquently on a serious topic.

The medium is the message. Man oh man what a medium Galloway is! That accent … that vocabulary.
If they say Hillary created ISIS…..and Obama created ISIS….then they’re 100% accurate.
Mish, it’s always a pleasure to hear George Galloway speak and to see his fiery features while he does so. He invariably proves that truth can be spoken and that it is a mighty weapon. No wonder Tony Blair gerrymandered him out of Parliament and out of the party.
The man has balls, unlike the MPs he’s addressing… the rest are Neville Chamberlain clones.

God, if only.
Where can I buy advance tickets?

My grandkids go to school and tell the teacher that Grandpa says it’s all bullshit propaganda. It’s the only way to fight the system. if we don’t start now, it’s going to result in our loss of the 1st amendment. Not BLM, it’s BMM – Bowel Movements Matter, and our “system” needs a shotgun enema.
good article Mish!
It is public knowledge that the CIA met with Central Command weekly to discuss bombing raids against ISIS. USA never bombed ISIS headquarters. Russia bombed ISIS headquarters immediately and took out the CIA big shots.

The proposed natural gas pipeline from Qatar and Saudi Arabia to NATO passes through Aleppo, Syria. Bashar Assad would never approve the pipeline because it would end his Russian ally’s monopoly on gas supplied to Europe. Islamic State headed by a Saudi puppet King would approve the pipeline. Thus Saudi Arabia and Qatar finance ISIS and NATO provides men, equipment, and CIA leadership.
This is probably the best explanation I have read re Syria

I don’t keep up with Brit politics. I have enough trouble trying to figure out what the hell is going on over here. I wonder how popular Galloway is with the Brit citizens? I wonder if the media painted him as a nut like they’ve done to Trump for telling the truth?
Whatever the case, my hat comes off to him for the courage to speak the truth. What a sad commentary on the world. It takes courage to speak the truth. Wow. The opposite should be true. It should take courage to lie and risk getting caught.
I appreciate Mr. Galloway’s honesty but most of us on this side of the pond with at least 2 brain cells and a pair of eyes who have our eyes figured out that the Obama Administration created and armed ISIS years ago. Hell, they stole all the heavy armor we gave to the Iraqi Army which is the equivalent of F Troop. But how stupid were we to give it to them in the first place?
I’ve given up on sanity. I look at all this like I would a Mel Brooks movie. Today at my age it’s all entertainment. I just feel damn sorry for the kids.
Galloway is not popular with the British people. He is a communist and proud of it, sort of like Bernie Sander; but like a true Scotsman Galloway has fire in his belly and oratory powers to match. As someone mentioned he was kicked out of Parliament by Tony Blair…Galloway was too cavalier with the truth I guess for Tony.B.Liar. His greatest speech in my mind was his appearance before the US Senate, where he was accused of taking money from Iraq and being involved in the “oil for food” program. He basically gave all of them his middle finger and I cheered him on. And I am a right-wing Conservative ready to vote for Donald Trump in November.
That was a classic tirade:
Excellent oration.
Bravo!
Let’s see:
Hillary supported and voted for the war in Iraq and has never apologized for it.
Biden supported and voted for the war in Iraq and has never apologized for it.
Kerry supported and voted for the war in Iraq and has never apologized for it.
Trump calls the war a mistake.
Hmmmmm. No differences in this election. .
Many will read this and be aghast at such an accusation ….
Even when one points out that the CIA was very happy to team up with and arm religious fanatics (including Bin Laden) in Afghanistan in the 80’s.
The human mind is a strange thing….
I forgot to mention…. I am on the blue team… the team lead by the Fed…. if the blue team has determined we need to team up with madmen to oust Assad…. then I will assume that this has been thought through …. and that if our team wins I benefit… I get a taste…
I can see how it would be easy to cheer for Putin and Assad …. if you objectively look at this they are the ones who are being bullied….
However we must be careful what we wish for. If Putin wins… and the red team get the upper hand …. they will not deliver a fair and just world.
They will simply replace the Fed … and they will be the global bully.
We would not like being on the receiving end of that …
I was reading a history of China …. I forget the title …. but there was a kernel of wisdom I would like to share….
A prominent intellectual in the period after the British withdrew made a comment along these lines:
We should not feel sorry for ourselves for what the British did to us. Nor should we hate the British. Our nation was weak. And that made us vulnerable. If it were not the Brits putting us under the yoke it would have been some other nation. Feeling sorry for ourselves will accomplish nothing — we must make ourselves strong.
Another anecdote – Kenya … Masai Mara — antelope gives birth — various predators are trying to snatch the baby and eat it. None of the predators stood back feeling sorry for the antelope – you eat or you weaken and then you are eaten
The jackals finally got it.
One more — Ottoman empire breaks up — the book I was reading indicated that the major powers were hovering over the injured beast — all looking to carve off a piece of meat.
So you are suggesting that we as parasites should hitch a ride on the back of the psychopaths and hope everything turns out fine.
Me, I think it was a better system when both the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. (no, I don’t want their country to revert back) were on equal levels. No real dominant bully. We still had a good life then too, if not better.
When has it ever been any different?
From the time the first tribes attacked each other over resources (more land) to present day… we have been at each other… and always will be.
You get under the skirt of the leader of your team — and hope he wins the battle….
Because if the other tribe (country) wins — you get the yoike.
It was no different when the USSR exists…. all that means was there were two bullies…
In fact the bullying was even worse — because each of them were trying to outdo each other…
It is not right or wrong — I do not believe in good and evil — it is just the way it is.
Last of the Malthusian Claptrap Tribe!
I contend that the purpose of these wars is to keep the American people focussed on a non-threat (ISIS), so that the elites (whether on the left or right) can go about plundering what’s left of the Republic.
If we couldn’t find a good enough reason to blow up Syria, we’d be slaughtering Venezuelans to keep South America from a Communist domino effect so they could be “free”.
And Hillary is the dirtiest pig in that sty.
Islam, a religion that treats women like dogs and dogs like lunch, is responsible for ISIS. This bozo sounds like all those Germans in the 1040s who blamed Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, France etc for getting invaded
Yep but….Fundamental Islam is more than a religion, it’s an ideology.
It’s an ideology determined to dominate all other Poltical and religious systems and beliefs; by all and any means possible.
That analysis disqualifies Fundamental Islam from every free society on earth.
So…….?
John C
He is a great talker (having won The Spectator’s “Debator of the year” among other awards), and he may be right or wrong on this issue. However, he is also a weapons-grade bell-end – look at his fawning admiration of Saddam Hussein, his communist beliefs, or his open anti-semitism – nothing to do with media spin, there are direct quotes for all of these.
After reading some of his ramblings, I think his anti-war stance comes from a rather different place than yours.
Yes, I know it’s an ad-hom, however I have trouble accepting anything he says given how much of a nutter he is on these and other issues.
Is referring to the Israeli’s as a pack of murders anti-semitism?
Or just calling a spade a spade?
I really really really like this video referred to as Breaking their Bones Policy:
Not so fast. Take a look at the flag of Saudi Arabia.
The white sword on a green field, means … BLOODY JIHAD … !!!!!
Saudi Arabia = Sunni Caliphate.
Iran = Shia Caliphate.
Galloway has finally said something with some truth to it. But before you give your praise you’d better acquaint yourself with the history of this socialist’s support for murderous Communist dictators and Muslim fanatics and terrorists. Here’s a good site to start with: http://markhumphrys.com/galloway.html
Regardless of the speaker’s beliefs as one commenter stated, we should not judge the message based on the speakers views. We should listen to the message. The man is correct we did indeed create ISIS and Al Queda. Our intelligence agencies created them. Many here including myself have commented many times about this. Our government just like the Romans hire mercenaries to do our dirty work these days, then western governments point the finger at the evil organizations are to blame.
Kozjam you are correct about Saudi Arabia and Iraq. +1 for you. The Middle East tribes have fought amongst themselves for literally centuries. The Western world including the EU back these organizations and it backfires on us. As soon as we left Iraq the fighting once again began amongst themselves.
No matter how many time the West intervenes the same result will happen once we leave the area. I say pull everyone out and let them continue to kill one another. Why should we send our young men and women into war when the result will end up the same. Insanity is all it is.
This is all about resources and nothing more the people be damned.
I think the speaker has got it right. Ron
Whether we agree or disagree with Galloway’s politics, on this subject he is 100% correct.
+++++
Galloway is just mad that ISIS stole the thunder from his favorite Islamic terror groups HAMAS (whom he illegally raised money for) and HIZBOLLAH (who he praised for invading Syria)…see videos on those 2 issues
Video: George Galloway praises Islamic terror group Hezbollah
and a site called site titled GallowayWatch.
From what I know of Galloway is that he stands for fairness in a world of bullies.
And that the bullies do not like what he has to say — so they attempt to paint him as a radical – a terrorist sympathizer.
That is total bullshit. Youtube him and listen to his rants. He is stating what needs to be said.
That said – I do not agree with what he is doing. Our dog is currently the meanest in the junk yard — because of that we get a nice taste of the spoils of pillage.
George is in effect cheering against the home team.
Because if he got what he wanted — the tables would eventually turn — and we’d be the one’s cowering in the corner with the new meanest dog snapping and snarling — and eating our food.
Really interesting
Indeed really interesting and also really obvious. Bush and Blair managed to create huge economic problems and increased nation debt etc. whilst creating even more reasons for muslims to feel ostracised. ‘Most of the current weaponary used by ISIS and the rebels has been captured from US forces’ is the frequently used statement. It is obvious that in fact the US supplied the weapons in the first place.
Until all US and US affiliates (the United Nations) pull out of the Middle East, more ISIS copies will emerge.
