EU fools would rather everyone, themselves included, eat salt and drink vinegar than negotiate a reasonable Brexit agreement with the UK.
European Council chief, Donald Tusk is the fool of the day.
Please consider ‘Hard Brexit’ or No Brexit, Warns Donald Tusk.
Speaking at a conference in Brussels, Donald Tusk dashed the hopes of those hoping Britain could remain inside the EU’s single market or negotiate some special form of association. The tenor of the UK’s referendum campaign had been to “radically loosen relations with the EU, something that goes by the name of ‘hard Brexit’,” he said.
“In my opinion, the only real alternative to a hard Brexit is no Brexit,” Mr Tusk said. “Even if today hardly anyone believes in such a possibility.”
In remarks that are likely to infuriate prominent Brexiters in the British government, Mr Tusk set out a bleak picture for the negotiations to come between the UK and the rest of the EU, saying that there would be no winners, only losers. “This scenario will in the first instance be painful for Britons,” he said.
“The brutal truth is that Brexit will be a loss for all of us. There will be no cakes on the table for anyone. There will only be salt and vinegar.”
In stark terms, Mr Tusk said that it was “useless to speculate about soft Brexit”.
Mr Tusk also said he expected the exit talks to last considerably longer than the two years foreseen under the so-called Article 50 procedure in the EU’s treaties. “I think the process will be much longer than two years,” he said.
Spiteful Jackasses
The words “spiteful jackasses” do not do justice to fools who think the EU will in any way benefit from such idiocy.
The EU will lose heavily in a trade war. And this all-or-none approach will hugely damage EU exports and GDP at a time when Greece, Italy, are struggling mightily, and Spain has an immense budget problem.
Any further weakening in EU economies will play straight into the hands of Beppe Grillo’s Five Star Movement in Italy, Marine le Pen’s National Front party in France, and anti-immigration FPÖ candidate Norbert Hofer in Austria.
Insistence on salt and vinegar is downright asinine when you propose force feeding it to yourself.

The biggest problem in politics? Politicians.
Ha ha, I can hardly wait to see the look on Tusk’s face after Dec. 4 when Italy heads for the exit. Then what is Tusk going to do? He cannot force nations to remain in a bad union, there was never anything in the agreement that no one is ever allowed to leave.
Brexit was the first notorious repudiation of the Statists. They are enraged that anything can decrease their power. They are certifiably nuts, but Brexit is not the end of that decrease. The rest of us, not only in Europe, but throughout the West, have had a belly full of the “progressive” statist movement’s corrupt acquisition of power and, even in the US, whether Trump wins or loses, the forces of a hostile middle class will grow. It should be remembered that revolution does not come from the poor, but from the middle class, which has the intellect, ambition and judgment to see the failures of a tyrannical state and to mobilize challenges to it..
Hi Mish u don’t need to post this since I’m on the wrong article. I pretty much agreed with u on the stockman story until today when I heard from somewhat reliable sources that the Trump trash mouth scandal information had been held by news people, democrats from way back during the republican primaries. I certainly wouldn’t check snopes on this as they have no credibility with me at all. We’ll probably never know until 30-40 years from now when somebody starts to die they repent and the real truth comes out like the votes from dead people came out about LBJ years ago. No need for u to respond to this.
There is without a doubt a media campaign against Trump. I never said otherwise. But that is not what did Trump in. For 18 months there has been a media campaign against Trump. He survived it all.
He did not survive total lack of preparedness for the first debate despite being warned many time in many places.
I think the media campaign has had some effect. He was still polling level after the first debate, depending on the polls you look at of course. The media hyping of the locker room banter and Romney/Bush GOPe attack had an effect, but I think he righted it after the second debate. If he repeats that performance in the third debate and the Wikileaks people dump the really juicy stuff he will win.
Trump appreciates the narrative arc, perhaps he meant to lose the first.
So hard to tell if the pollsters will get the turnout model right, the final polls for Brexit got it wrong with the assumptions they made. Even I thought the Leave campaign would lose as I cast my vote, only when the first results came in was it clear we had won.
Treaty of Versailles déjà vu. All the lessons of the Great War (WW I) seem to have vanished. If Tusk is representative of the European mindset, which seems to prefer lose-lose scenarios like WWI, even multiple nuclear wars destroying the continent will not produce learning. The European leaders are imbeciles at best, self-interested lackeys and vassals interested only in fattening their personal accounts and pensions at best. No wonder they hate Trump, as he presents a win-win scenario for the world diametrically opposed to the European love of the lose-lose outcome. A hopeless bunch.
On the other hand, what if there was an agenda behind pursuing a lose-lose strategy for Europe. What would that agenda be? In other words, what if Tusk is an Evil Genius with an Agenda rather than a garden variety idiot; then the question becomes who benefits (and in what ways) from a lose-lose scenario in Europe?
Who benefits and in what way?
You know the story of the scorpion and the frog crossing a river…
Europe is the graveyard of failed civilizations. The continent has historically an inherent tendency towards dictatorship and tyranny for reasons beyond my comprehension.
UK was the only pragmatic adult in the table of hardened french and other ideologues that make up the EU. With them gone, expect EU to collapse and become a community of nation states as before where the crazy ideologues wont have the necessary power to carry out their ideas on the whole continent or they will manage to push it trough and it will become a super totalitarian state, no different then Russia. EU is run by senile arrogant idiot ideologues that nothing will stop from carrying out their petty projects.
My wife is a Brit and I have noticed that the Brits actually like salt and vinegar with their “fish and chips”.
“The brutal truth is that Brexit will be a loss for all of us. There will be no cakes on the table for anyone. There will only be salt and vinegar.”
That comment takes the cake.
Then let them eat crisps.

Ok thanks Mish u may not remember but I was the very first one to respond to u since there were maybe 15 minutes left n the first debate that Hillary had put him on the defensive and among other things he didn’t bring up the corrupt Clinton Foundation- Oh I used the phrase she had “moped up”, the point is I agree with u on the first debate, none the less, no mouth scandal he still wins the election unless he crashes the last debate which he may as the whole dynamic has changed the way he’ll respond.
“This scenario will in the first instance be painful for Britons,” he said.
If I were a Britisher it will make my blood boil.
Hillary tries to make as few appearances as possible as all she does is remind everyone how much they actually dislike her. It really is that bad. These rallies of hers are poorly attended when they should be wildly popular by now.
Trumpers? Just make sure you vote. This is still going to be close and a lot of “Hillary’s people” are actually going to vote Trump so it’s important that the “never Trump” faction does not carry the day and end up causing her to win when her defeat was altogether doable. Forget the polls entirely and just vote, which is all you can do anyway.
They think they know what’s good for everybody, I could certainly tell you what’s good for them but there again perhaps not because it would be deleted.
Britain should just get a move on and initiate divorce proceedings asap
otherwise i might just have to change my vote.
ps i understand that, behind the scenes, as always, that the UK civil service
are doing their damndest to sabotage the planned Brexit before it even gets started.
you should try watching episodes from that great British TV comedy series
Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister
such as “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvYuoWyk8iU”
When you’re laying on the canvas with one eye swollen shut and your nose broken it’s time to quit. This fight ended with the Brexit vote. It’s sad that the EU parliaments Messianic complex won’t allow it to just admit that. It’s even sadder to contemplate the damage they will do to themselves before they finally give up.
A trade war would kill the EU in less than 9 months. Some of the members would start heading for their own exits in less than 6. Personally, I enjoy watching politicians commit suicide.

I’m serious. These goofballs make me think of Packleds every time they say or do something. I wasn’t joking yesterday. Anyone, honestly tell me you don’t see the similarity.
