A battle over sanctions is brewing in the EU this evening.
The EU led by European Council president Donald Tusk seeks more sanctions on Russia over Aleppo.
However, Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi Pushes Back on Sanctions because Italy was stung more by sanctions than other nations.
The European Union said it was too soon to consider imposing sanctions on Russia for the bombing of rebel-held areas of Syria, while maintaining the threat of action if Vladimir Putin doesn’t back down.
After the first of two days of talks in Brussels, EU leaders said “all available options” remain on the table, without mentioning sanctions specifically, after they clashed over using more pointed language on Thursday. While the U.K., France and Germany wanted to take a harsher tone with Russia, Italy’s Matteo Renzi led those countries who opposed the move.
Russia’s aggression in Syria has brought its relationship with the west to a new low. With ties already worse than at any time since the Cold War because of Putin’s annexation of Crimea and violent interference in eastern Ukraine, the Kremlin’s support of the Syrian regime has raised tensions further and exposed divisions in the EU.
“It’s clear that Russia’s strategy is to weaken the EU — we have no illusions,” the bloc’s president, Donald Tusk, told reporters early Friday. “Increasing tensions with Russia is not our aim; we are simply reacting to steps taken by Russia.”
The EU has added progressively tougher sanctions on Russia since March 2014 for its involvement in Ukraine, including broad economic restrictions as well as travel bans and asset freezes on individuals and companies. While leaders were not planning to make any decisive steps toward additional sanctions at the summit, the final communique represents a watering down of more specific threats contained in their draft text.
Irony Abounds
European Council president Donald Tusk is not to be confused with European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker, who probably agrees with Tusk anyway.
Since every nation has to agree to more sanctions, Italy is more than sufficient to kill the idea.
Tusk says ““It’s clear that Russia’s strategy is to weaken the EU — we have no illusions.”
Irony abounds. Pray tell, what the heck are sanctions on Russia other than a blatant attempt to weaken Russia? And who started this sanction mess?
To find the key hypocrites, all Tusk and Juncker have to do is look in the mirror.
Brexit Hypocrisy
Let’s now return to the Brexit debate for a second. The EU insists that for a “soft Brexit” the UK must abide by four demands.
Four Freedoms
- The free movement of goods.
- The free movement of services and freedom of establishment.
- The free movement of persons (and citizenship), including free movement of workers.
- The free movement of capital.
Germany is one of the biggest offenders of points number two and three.
Please consider Germany’s Apprenticeship System Comes Under Attack.
After 18 months of study, $2,200 in tuition and three exams, Ewa Feix is now permitted by German law to bake two variations of cupcakes.
“Not pretzels, not Black Forest gâteau, not bread,” said Ms. Feix, a Canadian who moved to Germany in 2009. Becoming a professional bread baker entails a three-year apprenticeship and more exams.
Germany’s thicket of rules and standards shields roughly 150 professions from competition, from ski instructors to well-diggers. Stiff fines await uncertified practitioners. German authorities conduct thousands of enforcement raids each year.
Strong middle-class support, particularly among Chancellor Angela Merkel’s supporters, means the German system has defied repeated attempts at reform.
Merkel’s Blatant Hypocrisy
I discussed the above in Fascinating Look at Why Brexit Happened Through Eyes of Cameron’s Deputy Director of Policy.
Consider a refugee from Syria who knows how to bake goods. Also consider a baker from France who wants to setup a bakery in Germany. They need a separate apprenticeship for bread, pretzels, and cupcakes.
What the heck are those inane rules other than a direct attempt to prevent freedom of movement of people, services, and businesses?
Add Merkel and Germany to the list of the world’s biggest hypocrites when it comes to free movement of goods and workers in the EU.
Mike “Mish” Shedlock
The Italian minister’s comments not withstanding, there is NO Russian aggression in Syria. Russia has been asked for military assistance by Syria’s legitimate government. The United States and its allies have invaded Syria with the intent of overthrowing its government. This is a war of aggression and a war crime.
True
What is this truth stuff? That’s not what Hellary says!
Legitimate government my rear end…. Obama’s is not legitimate. Fat chance Assad’s is.
Dropping bombs and shelling people, unless done so in direct defense of self and self’s, is an act of aggression. Some hack with a grandiose sounding title “asking” the Russians to do it, has exactly zero bearing on the matter.
Free movement of capital? Can we move Brussels into some active volcano somewhere?
Sanctions will move Europe closer to a conflict with Russia.
Are there courses, exams, and certificates necessary to become a German politician? I smell a shtinky dooble shtandard.
Thinking the same thing.
I guess only cattle need certification.
Russian aggression in Aleppo??? No, that would be the US armed and backed foreign jihadists trying to overthrow Assad….More Orwellian by the day….
At the EU summit in Bratislava, Donald Tusk issued a warning to Eurosceptic leaders, including those of Hungary and Poland, to moderate their increasingly belligerent rhetoric on Europe. “I will be watching how you comment on this meeting back home,” Mr Tusk said, according to a person in the room.
Old communist habits die hard.
“It’s clear that Russia’s strategy is to weaken the EU — we have no illusions,”
Well, wouldn’t it just be so much easier to sit around and wait for the EU to destroy themselves over EU trade and Schengen rules? Russia can find other people to trade with in the interim…. like maybe the Philippines who just threw the US overboard a few days ago to pal up with China.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/duterte-meets-xi-philippines-cozies-beijing-044808788.html
They are all hypocrites, including the UK. Behind the scenes the Germans can’t wait to do deals with the Russians – this is not BS – to keep the export machine ticking. It has cost Germany dear and they will want to fill the gap generated by the UK import slow down that will occur with the weaker GBP.
Also have to wonder if demonising Russia is one way to keep the Eastern Europeans from forming alliances that could weaken the EU. Keep them looking West, not East.
I’ve yet to come across a good explanation as to what Assad actually did to start this off. It is a disgraceful mess now but why did it start?
I am looking at the US (Clinton) supporting Qatar’s desire to put a gas pipeline in through Syrian territory into southern Europe. Syria has some rich oil deposits that can be gleaned nicely if Assad is ‘out of the way”. Russia (Gazprom) wants a gas pipeline under the Black sea into Turkey and up into southern Europe too. These conflicting plans were hatched years ago before oil prices collapsed. I have been following it for about 4 years now. Here’s an article that follows the scheme.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-secret-stupid-saudi-us-deal-on-syria/5410130
Would be no surprise to find that has truth in it and it would curtail Russian hold over EU energy in winter and reduce their revenue streams whilst bolstering a mid-east ally. Lots of reasons for there to be some truth in that.
Runaway food inflation imported by the Fed caused Arab spring and since Clinton foundation donors and spreaders of extremist islam Saudia Arabia and Qatar already got the scalp of Libya’s Gaddafi whom they considered their competitor and infidel meaning Libya would become extremist-islamist ruled country and draw all the crazies away from Saudi Arabia and Qatar to wage holy war instead of rebelling against the corrupt rulers in Saudi and Qatar they thought that since Clinton is stupid war-hawk who already dealed with Gaddafi for them so they thought they could use her more so they lobbied also for US support to Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The protests against Assad had started as part of Arab spring but Assad stopped them violently and that would have been the end of it but Saudis, Yemenis, Iraqis, Chechens, etc. were drawn to syria by Saudi Arabian religious propaganda wahhabism and salafism and Muslim Brothergood gangsters from Egypt were also looking for a new home because The egyptian General who did a coup against muslim brotherhood was killing them in Egypt.
Enter FSA supported by Saudi Arabia and Qatar and armed by USA through the arms from Gaddafis arms depots in Libya via Turkey and war to kill Assad and remove the shia-alawites he is part of and install into Syria a sunni-rule approved by Saudi Arabia and Qatar started which could give Qatar the pipelines through Syria they wanted and which Assad would not give them and a target for all the crazies to go instead of rebelling against House of Saud for Saudi Arabia and with Syria under control next Iran could actually be attacked.
Saudia Arabia and Qatar (sunnis) hate Syria (controlled by shia-alawites) and Iran (shias).
The stupidity of US is picking sides and becoming a tool for Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Clinton herself being the most incompetent and stupid politician to ever start two wars is heart-breaking.
Syria and Libya are a mess because of Clinton.
There is a famous selfie by know-nothing Mccain posing with FSA people and all turned out to be ISIS and US apparently even armed FSA straight and not just through Libyas arms depots.
95% of the arms given to FSA ended up with ISIS either with FSA units being actually ISIS or Al-Qaida or switching sides to ISIS and Al-Qaida or giving arms to ISIS and Al-Qaida since FSA got guns but ISIS and Al-Qaida had all the crazies willing to kill lots of people.
In the end ISIS was too much even for Al-Qaida so ISIS is now fighting Al-Qaida also because they think Al-Qaida are pussies for not killing as insanely as ISIS.
Syria is actually also part of the internal politics in Saudi Arabia because they want the crazies to go there to keep House of Saud in power.
US has inflamed and caused the Syrian nightmare with the arms given to FSA and with the support to ISIS by Saudi Arabia and Qatar that has been allowed.
There should be massive sanctions against both Saudia Arabia and Qatar for funding ISIS but instead the Clinton criminals accept foundation donations from them and Clinton wants a no-fly-zone which would be an advantage for ISIS in Syria and which would lead to the massacre of Assad and shia-alawites by sunnis.
ISIS is a sunni group.
Russia is playing their own geopolitics because they support Assad and they do not want the pipelines through Syria either because Russia thinks that when Europe needs Russia for energy then the whole of Europe will be against US neocon fever-dreams of attacking Russia.
If there would be pipelines through Syria then Europe would not need Russian energy for survival.
When it comes to Iran the Saudis and Qataris hate them because they are persian infidels to them (Iran is shia) and they dream of war against Iran and getting Iran under sunni control and it would be really handy if USA fought this war also for them.
The deal with Iran by USA was so bad because some neocons must want to encourage the crazy mullahs of Iran to keep dreaming about nuclear bomb so Iran could be later attacked on that pretext because I can’t believe american negotiators would all be so incredibly stupid to make a deal that gives a pathway to nuclear weapons otherwise.
The pipelines through Syria would also help in attacking Iran because currently Iran cn’t be attacked because they can shutdown whole of persian gulf meaning no oil-tankers from several countries if Iran is attacked.
The Saudi Arabian and Qatari influence needs to be removed from USA politics but instead too many american voters seem to support a crazed war-mongering war-hawk Grandma with blackouts and falls who accepted tens of millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia and Qatar to her Clinton Foundation that has spent under 10% of money actually to charity.
Putin and Assad and Iranian mullahs are not nice men but the current policy of USA can be described as supporting countries that support ISIS and also being “naive” to support obvious front-groups for ISIS like FSA straight where 95% of arms given to FSA ended up in ISIS arms.
US provided arms probably have killed hundreds of thousands in Syria inluding Christians, Yazidis and other minorities.
I’m seriously afraid Clinton and her handlers will start a third world war.
“The Saudi Arabian and Qatari influence needs to be removed from USA politics but instead too many american voters seem to support a crazed war-mongering war-hawk Grandma with blackouts and falls who accepted tens of millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia and Qatar to her Clinton Foundation that has spent under 10% of money actually to charity.”
Unfortunately, the typical voter isn’t even REMOTELY as knowledgeable as you are about the situation in the Middle East. I’ll bet most of them couldn’t even point to Iraq on a map, let alone Syria.
And, gosh, your analysis differs somewhat from the one I saw just last night in a two hour PBS Frontline documentary about ISIS. BTW, I buy yours. When one of the “geniuses” in our government said that they ponder what they might have done better to prevent the current chaos, the typical kid glove interviewer never asked the question I would have: “Perhaps it would have been wise not to overthrow the dictators who have for so many years successfully kept all of these religious fanatic morons from killing each other?”
It’s that obvious “mistake” in policy that makes me think its more than just high wheat prices that inspired the Arab Spring. If I recall correctly, the CIA only needed to spend $100k in bribes to get rolling the Iranian coup that led to the rule of the Shah of Iran, primarily for the benefit of what is now British Petroleum (read “All the Shah’s Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror” by Stephen Kinzer).
I think that some day we may find that this chaos was about as “accidental” as the Gulf of Tonkin incident:
“A highly classified program of covert actions against North Vietnam known as Operation Plan 34-Alpha, in conjunction with the DESOTO operations, had begun under the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in 1961. In 1964 the program was transferred to the Defense Department and conducted by the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (SOG).
For the maritime portion of the covert operation, a set of fast patrol boats had been purchased quietly from Norway and sent to South Vietnam. Although the boats were crewed by South Vietnamese naval personnel, approval for each mission conducted under the plan came directly from Admiral U.S. Grant Sharp, Jr., CINCPAC in Honolulu, who received his orders from the White House. After the coastal attacks began, Hanoi lodged a complaint with the International Control Commission (ICC), which had been established in 1954 to oversee the terms of the Geneva Accords, but the US denied any involvement. Four years later, Secretary McNamara admitted to Congress that the U.S. ships had in fact been cooperating in the South Vietnamese attacks against North Vietnam. Maddox, although aware of the operations, was not directly involved.
What was (and is) generally not considered by U.S. politicians at the time (and by later historians) were the other actions taken under Operations Plan 34-Alpha just prior to the incident. The night before the launching of the actions against North Vietnamese facilities on Hòn Mê and Hòn Ngư islands, the SOG had launched a covert long-term agent team into North Vietnam, which was promptly captured. That night (for the second evening in a row), two flights of CIA-sponsored Laotian fighter-bombers (piloted by Thai mercenaries) attacked border outposts well within southwestern North Vietnam. The Hanoi government (which, unlike the U.S. government, had to give permission at the highest levels for the conduct of these missions) probably assumed that they were all a coordinated effort to escalate military actions against North Vietnam.”
“Russia thinks…”
Countries don’t have opinions. Correctly assigning ownership of “Russia thinks…” to an actual leader, i.e. “Putin thinks” reveals a second failure. Nobody but Putin knows what Putin thinks.
He might want to secure trade advantages for his country.
He might want to extract personal profit from Gazprom.
He might want to aggravate American military leadership.
He might like how Hillary looks in a white pants suit.
On the one hand EU is looking for a centralized containment of business within ‘its’ borders ( and that means domination of) , but at another level states and big business have their privileged networks of understandings – the two often conflict . On the global table exists a competing chaos of influences and interest, that sometimes reinforce each other, and sometimes become conflictive. There is no standard by which we might compare what goes on at this level, we only have our intuition as to who we might trust, but those actually involved have little room for any.
Assad was feted in Europe at one point, and as you point out, his fall from western grace is testament to complot and media power. From what I remember, he did not react to western pressure as wanted. The path out of Lebanon and the subsequent promotion to ‘western’ ideal was supposed, was expected, to lead to a democratic reform that would have effectively ousted the old regime. Assad did not, or could not, play along ( proper elections would have changed the balance of power in the country unacceptably) , and so he was ostracized and eventually demonised as he ( the regime) reacted to the sponsored uprisings.
It is not in my nature to judge who is right or wrong in this, the background motives are deep, the interests we have to half guess, all I can say is that we in the west have no business meddling, that our meddling is for business and influence, not some humanitarian quest that is actually a parody played out on our populations at the expense of those that live in the region. .
The media propaganda machine is being revved up on Russia. I see the very same pattern they used on Saddam as their using on Putin today.
Prior to the Iraq invasion in 2003 I searched and searched for a radio or TV station that questioned the WMD claims and the authority to invade a sovereign nation based on such flimsy evidence and no possibility of an imminent threat. I finally found a small FM station located about 60 miles from where I live.
Even when I went to church on Sunday the congregation wasn’t told to pray to prevent a conflict. We were told to pray to keep our soldiers safe.
We were blasted with pro-war sentiment from virtually all sources of public information. No wonder the war had a 90% approval rating.
Now I hear they ridiculing Putin on the radio. And condemning him for killing children in Allepo. I see the flames of war being fanned once again.
Wars are expensive. With a debt load of $19T how would we pay for a war against another major power?
The Russian government is already warning their citizens that they’re being drawn into an escalating conflict by way of Syria.
It’s been reported that 10 heavily armed Russian warships led by a nuclear powered aircraft carrier were headed for passage through the English Channel to join Assad’s bombing campaign targeting Aleppo.
Stay tuned..
Yes, the ships were escorted by Royal Navy vessels and monitored. Interesting as they will need to go through the Straits of Gibraltar. If that was in Spanish hands I wonder how secure the under belly of Europe would feel. A@@-holes.

mish,
the German apprenticeship system results in high productivity and high quality. There is a shortage of labor in Germany due in large part to the good training provided by the apprenticeship system.
The challenges facing Germany are problems other countries can only dream about:
1) Too many high paying jobs without applicants
2) Too high of savings rate
3) Too much paid vacation (6 weeks typical)
4) Too much manfacturing
It’s true that German certifications are kafkaesque. Just try and get a certification to play Golf or Fish in the local pond with your kid.
If someone makes crappy cupcakes, no one will buy them. The free market is all one needs.
There should be inspections by authorities about once per year that the hygiene in the cupcake cafe is good with initial inspection when it starts but 364 days of the year the cupcake cafe should be left alone and everybody who knows how to bake should be able to make cupcakes.
To have to have long training to be able to get a permit to bake cupcakes is totally insane bureaucratic hell.
“There should be inspections by authorities…”
There should be no government authorities other than those who respond to legitimate accusations of wrongdoing after the fact.
Mish,
In theory, I agree 1000%. buuuttttt, in Germany the restriction of trade via certification does seem to work rather well and has for generations. They also have ridiculous rules for store hours, some state regulated; others by custom.
For example, in many small towns, stores are closed from 12:00 to 14:00. Want to buy some milk for the baby at 1230 on a Wednesday ? Tough Sh*t. It’s utterly stupid but functions well.
The Germans take a lunch break from 12 to 2 to relax and are more productive when they return for the 2nd half of the day, as opposed to half-hour lunch breaks in America forcing people to stuff food down their throats then head back to the assembly line. No wonder so many Americans are on psychotropics and our health care costs are off the charts.
Anyone who has lived in Germany knows that the pastries in their bakeries are some of the most delicious in the world. Their bakers are professionals. Not some idiot who snuck across the border and works in a donut shop for $6/hr.
and their pastries are cheap because of high productivity due to the training inherent in their certification system
The truth is somewhere between a radical free market philosophy and a radically regulated market.
Let’s consider the case of a leaking pipe in your house. Imagine how good it will feel if you happen to call a plumber who doesn’t have a clue how to bake cupcakes …
The sanctions rhetoric is empty bluster.
London, the EU main negotiator wants all talks on the exit to be in French.
Moves also being made for French to be the primary EU language after UK leaves.
Great. How to side-line yourself, do everything in French.
Some of these statements are not true. In the EU there are 3000 protected professions over all the countries. Germany has some too, but a lot of this is due to the dual-education system which is traditionally established in Germany and has been a very positive factor. This system is dependent on some protection because if companies have no incentive to engage in the system it fails.
Regarding the sanctions on Russia, it was the USA who was the leading force to establish them and the EU followed. But the EU has been much stricter in implementing them and the EU has lost market share in Russia to US companies. The USA wanted the sanctions but then didn’t implement. This has caused some bad blood.
Merkel is a failed politician whose name germans will curse forever.
The collective media brainwashing is even stronger in germany than USA otherwise Merkel would have resigned already.
Hopefully CDU/CSU combo will change their policies even more (recently germany was the motivating force behind all EU countries signing a return-agreement with Afganistan meaning all failed asylum seekers from Afganistan will be sent back, several countries have also tightened their asylum process and reject most of Afganistani applications because in reality 99% of them come looking for the free money and free apartments and family re-unifications from Afganistan straight to welfare that western european welfare-countries provided before).
If CDU/CSU are smart the same kind of deal will be forced through EU with the collective power of EU to all countries where the majority of comers are welfare seekers like Iraq (most of Iraq is peaceful although Mosul is a total mess so all iraqis should be sent back and told to get a job in peaceful Baghdad instead of coming to live on european welfare, Baghdad has 8 million people living there in peace and ISIS is not an issue in Baghdad) and Somalia ( Somaliland (north), Puntland (middle) and Somalian capital Mogadishu and surrounding areas that is secured by African Union troops are all peaceful so somalis should be sent back inbstead of coming to live on european welfare.
Only genuine refugees come from Syria and even them were all SAFE after reaching Turkey.
My guess is the odds are larger than 50% that Seehofer or somebody else will become the new CDU/CSU combo leader in the next election because Merkel would mean huge losses to AfD in elections.
Germany is stopping free movement of people with german bureaucracy while demanding free movement from others.
Total hypocrites.
Instead of giving UK the same opt-out (on free movement of people) Germany itself has built internally through internal german bureaucracy Merkel drove UK away.
Brexit is a blessing we can thank Angela Merkel for.
Germany is in deep problems since under 100 people out of the over million “asylum seeker” people who came to Germany have found a job:
http://fortune.com/2016/09/14/germany-hiring-refugee/
That means 999,900+ people are living on german welfare.
Fools believe German economy can “manage that” despite Deutsche bank being the biggest ponzi there has ever been among banks and german state debt being already over 70% of GDP which means germany as country will crash when Deutsche banks 50 Trillion derivatives bubble built by the smartest people will crash on german taxpayers.
test
Isn’t it ‘free movement’ of any ‘EU citizen’ and not ‘any clinical human who happens to now be in the EU’?
The way the schengen rules on free movement are written there is no checks of any kind so when one gets inside EU-schengen area one is free to travel from one end of europe to another whether illegal immigrant trying to reach Sweden and Germany to claim asylum and get free money and free apartment for the rest of their lives by telling a fairytale about persecution and horrible horrible situation in their homeland and also family re-unification straight to welfare OR legal immigrant OR legal visitor with a Schengen visa.
UK by the way is NOT in Schengen so they have border checks on the french border and that is why there are riots in Calais on the french side and thousands of “asylum seekers” try to hide in trucks to get into UK.
However all EU-citizens are let through to UK and for example dirt-poor Romania and Bulgaria have been sending hundreds of thousands of people to UK where they get minimum wage jobs and additional welfare from UK government and childrens allowances to send home even if their children are back in Romania and Bulgaria.
Every EU-citizen can move to UK and the rush has been immense from all eastern europe and once people have been working a bit they can “lose” their job and claim full welfare from UK and work under the table.
The situation for UK has been impossible because the amount of schools and hospitals needed for millions of new comers is intense and the high price of apartments in UK means that regular brits are not starting as many families so most people having families and large families in particular are british welfare4life types and many immigrants from poor EU-countries or Pakistani/Sri Lankan and Indian muslims for whom the move to UK is easier than others.
The mass grooming and sexual abuse in UK that has been on the news is done mostly by pakistani muslim men like in Rotherham where police and social workers turned a blind eye for over 10 years in order to not appear to be racist.
The mass rush of millions of people was made possible by the fact that Greece and Italy blatantly broke the dublin-treaty which says that the first country in EU that an asylum seeker reaches has to register their asylum application but Greece and Italy both just pushed majority of the people towards northern europe without registering anybody because they did not want the hassle.
Then the word spread that everybody can get through Greece and Italy (which pay 0 euros in welfare) to northern europe which pay 1000 euros per person in welfare plus free apartment to accepted asylum seekers so of course the huge rush started.
Both Greece and Italy are ruled by leftist governments like a mix of Hillary and Bernie and Greeces Alexis Tsipras is actually on a communist-level and Italys Matteo Renzi is almost as left as him.
So free passing to welfare europe and on top of that Italy is picking people up from Libyan waters and Greece was immediately shipping everybody reaching greek islands near Turkey to Greeces mainland.
The only solution is to close borders with Greece and Italy so the choice for them is to stop doing stupid shit or keep everyone that comes.
Just the knowledge that one can not get anymore through Greece because Austria started a closure of borders in the balkans collapsed the amount of comers which were already safe in Turkey anyhow.
However Merkel made a stupid deal to “solve” a situation that was mostly solved already and promised Turkeys 80 million muslims visa-free travel to Europe in rder to return some comers from Greece to Turkey if their asylum application has been denied in Greece. Stupidest deal ever since only about 200 people have been actually returned to Turkey.
EU is trying to make matters worse and is demanding permanent burden sharing whereby everyone reaching Greece and Italy would be transferred to welfare paying europe once they have reached a quota decided by EU ( by drunk-Juncker) which would mean that once the quota is reached everybody reaching Greece and Italy would be spread around europe no matter how many millions came. Total self-destruction policy from EU but it has not yet passed and if it passes 2015 will be remembered as year with just a few arrivals despite millions coming because the EU-idiocy would attract tens of millions yearly.
There is already a previously agreed temporary burden sharing from Greece and Italy to around europe for 160,000 “asylum seekers” where syrians (like the ones doing the terror attacks in France) and eritreans (army deserters who made a choice to get free money and free apartment for the rest of their life in europe instead of serving 18 months in eritrean army, since Eritrea would punish army deserters nobody is returned to eritrea and the acceptance rate for eritreans is 90%-100% depending on a country so if you escape eritrean army and get to europe you basically win in a lottery) are shipped around europe but only stupidest of the stupid countries are following this burden sharing with the three idiot countries taking the burden are France, Netherlands and Finland.
Total incompetence from French, dutch and finnish politicians with the prime minusters of those countries being total idiots under total control of Juncker.
For example Austria and eastern europe have taken 0 burden shared “asylum seekers”.and even the most quilty countries in attracting people to come with generous welfare and high acceptance rates for asylum seekers fairytale-stories like Sweden and Germany have taken just a few burden shared ones.
The free movement being talked about is not Schengen, but the right of EU citizens to travel and reside freely in other EU states. IOW they want EU citizens to be able to travel freely to UK, meaning no visas or restrictions apart from passport control ( as now). Currently an EU citizen cannot in essence be forced to leave UK.
You are confusing issues, read my comment again.
The issue for UK is the right to move/settle into UK by anybody within the 500 million people that make up EU including Romania and Bulgaria.
The rush of millions of “asylum seekers” also played a role in the Brexit debate although UK is not in Schengen and therefore the millions of “asylum seekers” went to Germany and Sweden that are in Schengen since UK has passport control and they could only get to UK by hiding in trucks going to UK.
UK itself does NOT want visas for other europeans and it is perfectly happy to let others travel with just an EU passport to visit UK for a holiday/vacation.
UK is against the right to move/settle in UK by anybody including Romanian gypsy beggars selling the “Big Issue” homeless magazine and collecting welfare and public housing from UK based on their romanian passport.
Germany is predicting doom for the UK outside of the EU. The rest of the EU are expecting the UK to come back in once some pain is felt by the end of 2017.
And Hillary makes Merkel look like Maggie Thatcher!
Hunker down if Hillary moves into the White House.
America will turn into a comedy show.
“Four Freedoms”
“@wikileaks
There is no US election. There is power consolidation. Rigged primary, rigged media and rigged ‘pied piper’ candidate drive consolidation.”
The US electoral system is just a sophisticated version of the purple-thumb system they use in Baghdad.
But the outcome is exactly the same.
“What the heck are those inane rules other than a direct attempt to prevent freedom of movement of people, services, and businesses?”
The New York Fed has all sorts of rules concerning their vaults beneath the streets of Manhattan. These are designed to restrict freedom of movement of gold being kept there in sovereign gold stashes.
You think the UK will have difficulty exiting the EU? Just try getting any bouillon out of those Federal Reserve vaults and you’ll see “difficulty”.
When and if she becomes president, Hillary will kill Julian even if she has to kill everyone else in the embassy to do it.
Julian Assange is a dead man if Hillary becomes president. Hillary has already stated “why can’t we drone this guy” while secretary of state and Assanges situation is bad also because there is a presidential election in Ecuador in 2017 so a new president can decide to revoke Assanges asylum status and kick him out of Embassy.
I’m guessing there will be american influence in the presidential elections of Ecuador to select a favored candidate willing to turnover Assange.
Assange will be dead or in jail for 100 years during 2017 if Hillary wins the presidential election.
The president of Ecuador is a leftist, if not a Marxist, and a big Hillary fan who says he would vote Hillary if he lived in the USA; but that Trump’s election would benefit Latin America the most, because Latin Americans react to conservative USA presidents by choosing Marxist and leftist presidents like himself.
Speaking of War Crimes, Obama and Hillary are free to commit war crimes with impunity because the George Soros war crimes court exempts USA soldiers and politicians from prosecution. Thus, the War Crimes court is basically a propaganda and hegemony enforcement unit of the Washington War Party, a tool of the Neo-Con militarists. The USA used precision missiles to bomb the Chinese embassy in Serbia and kill the Chinese diplomats there during the Clinton/NATO rape of the Balkans. More recently, USA bomber aircraft under Obama White House military orders destroyed the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan killing dozens of people including doctors and nurses, to name just one example of hospitals bombed by the USA.
Hillary is a proven War Criminal, and a Neo-con puppet carrying the War Party banner. Hillary’s judgment and intuition are indeed bad, and like her failures in Libya, Iraq and Syria, her Russian War Adventure will be a failure to the tune of millions more dead, including in the USA when her miscalculations play themselves out. That is what Trump meant when in response to Hillary calling him Putin’s puppet, Mr. Trump responded: No, you are the puppet, Hillary. She is indeed the puppet carrying the Neo-Con War Party banner into battle from Serbia and Libya to Syria and now Russia. People living in Washington D.C. and its suburbs in Virginia will be roasted like nuclear marshmallows under Hillary. This will change the electoral demographic, as these are War Party and socialist Dem areas.

I just came up with a brilliant idea how to protect American jobs. Clothes sold in America can be made only by American-educated workers who have had three years of apprenticeship in an American appropriately accredited clothes-making educational program. Feel free to replace clothes with anything you want: surgeries, root canals, etc. Oh wait, these are already legally protected. Let’s just extend the protections that doctors and dentists enjoy to all other professions in America. It is only fair.
