Merry Christmas! And don’t step in any active volcanos!
Mish, since the electoral college vote, Christmas has been looking better and better. For the first time in a long time I’m also looking forward to a happy new year.
The best to you and yours also.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Keep up the good work and fight those Keynesian Inflation-Worshippers!
Merry Cristmas Mish.
‘Christmas’…. festive typo.
In Sinope Christmas is celebrated on the Orthodox calendar. It is also said that the currency is debased with great severity. So what the heck, I suppose we can shave a few days off the calendar and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! Just like any debt, bringing forward to today what would be tomorrow’s Christmas.
Peace and safe travels to everyone.
Merry Christmas Mish and a Trumptious new year.
Merry Christmas to you also and have a Happy Healthy New Year. Thanks for all the interesting commentary
MERRY🎄CHRISTMAS
And a happy Festivus for the rest of us!
The celebration of Festivus takes place on Dec. 23. Oh well, better late than never.
Also Mish friends: “Live long and prosper”.
Merry Christmas to all. May your new year be peaceful.
Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas to you and your family Mish!
Just a side note:
A merry Xmas gift from our worst President Ever!

Back at you and thanks for giving me a place to vent, express, and have fun at. And the same to those who I ‘talk to’ from time to time over here. For those who don’t share the holiday, my best sentiments to you.
What I want for XMAS:
1) an economic environment where interest rates are more normalized, and by that I mean higher and not subject to manipulation and idiotic theories that are manufactured to sell the concept of negative rates being a good thing. I have to dive in this year. No choice.
2) Investing in said higher rates so I can disappear into retirement and enjoy a good life, rather than what the Fed and other central banks and their masters would have preferred, which would have been groceries, heat, light, an occasional movie, and a weekend trip or two a year to a destination place. (since they would have rather I spent my savings and borrowed more just to meet some moronic profile they thought up – such as using negative rates to turn debt into revenue.)
3) Feeling comfortable enough to range trade my Roth. Then buy some useless crap just for the fun of it.
4) World Peace, even though that would infuriate Washington neocons.
Oops, meant this as a new comment and not a reply.
But best wishes to you, too, buddy.

Anyone remember when Hillary called Jesus “homeless” and had sleep in a stable?
Was he a deplorable?
His father ran a sole proprietorship and had to flee the country just after the Christ child was born. You see, he had just registered with the census and should the tax collector discover a second male in the household, he would surely raise the assessment. Go ahead and let them discover gold, frankincense and myrrh in your possession and then see what the taxman says.
Miss…Merry Christmas to you…I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed your postings. I think I was introduced to your posts by John Maudlin…what a gift! Also, thanks for the extra bonus of your Iceland posts. I am an amateur photographer with an antique car addiction. I have been plotting a 2 week exploration of Iceland in a 1913 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost with 4 other couples who do the same kind of thing…your posts have been very helpful. Mostly I enjoy your straight forward and honest approach to the avalanche of spin that gets sent our way…Keep up the good work and best wishes for a prosperous New Year, Ron
Christmas greetings from England. Couldn’t abide the thought of buying French champagne this Brexit year, so paid the premium for a bottle of English Furleigh Estate Classic CuvĂ©e – and highly recommended it is too! Anything the French can do the English can do better (except bellyache). Cheers!
Smelly cheese?
California makes many very good champagnes at reasonable prices.
… bit do they export to the US?
Yes indeed, I visited the MoĂ«t vinyard in the Napa valley (maybe 35 years ago) and the champagne was excellent – except it wasn’t allowed to be called champagne! In those days there were still large tracts of uncultivated land; suppose it’s all industrial scale vineyards today.
Hi Mish…..Merry Christmas…Thank you so much for your honest and straightforward posts over the years….very refreshing in the avalanche of spin we get washed over by everyday, much appreciated….I think I was introduced to you by John Maudlin…a bonus has been your postings on Iceland…I am an amateur photographer ( fancy equipment, no real talent) with an addiction to antique cars. I have been plotting an Iceland adventure for our 1913 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost where about 5 couples would take these cars on an adventure around the country, your posts have been amazing and insightful…really enjoyed the equipment list and shooting advice. All the best for 2017 and beyond…thanks for what you do, warm regards, Ron Elenbaas >
You too Mish!
Mish– And a Merry Christmas back to you (although I’ve long been in the habit of wishing a Joyous Winter Solstice, as well). I was pleased you used that greeting, instead of the PC Happy Holidays or Season’s Greetings. But it’s why I enjoy your blog. Just wondering, do you get any of our stuff? Best. Doug
Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Here’s to hoping 2017 will be easier on our hearts, minds, and (since this is an economics blog) wallets.
Thank you for your kind Christmas greeting.. Your analysis is most constructive and should be read by those who seek to be well informed.. As one who has spent his professional life (over fifth years) as a political economist I must confess that you have become a daily read.. Keep up you fine work and wishing you well for the coming new year..
Merry Christmas to Mish and the Merry Mishmen! Dow 30,000!
Thank you Mish, Merry Christmas to you too. May God bless your family and you.
Merry Christmas Mish and Happy Hanukkah!
Merry Christmas to you Mish and may God bless you throughout the New Year
Thank you, Mish. Let me quote Luke 2:14, because to me this encompasses everything that Christmas stands for: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Enjoy the holidays.
AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU. AND, BY THE WAY, DON’T GET FOOLED BY THOSE CHOCOLATE NICKLES!
Merry Xmas Mish & Family,
Here’s wishing you & your family all the very best for Xmas & 2017.
Keep up the great work, it should be a very interesting year & we look forward to your commentary.
Regards,
Rod & Jen, Perth Australia.
