“Info Wars” host Alex Jones went on the air, incoherent, totally drunk, and burping. His site was among those deemed to provide “fake news”, a generally accurate assessment. The following video is painful to watch.
It does not help your cause to look this way. Why would his team put this out?

I have to disagree. Alex Jones did not do anything other than say what we all think …to wit: Look at the dinosaur media. It is dying. They have been made transparent in their actions against Trump in the past year how they are servants of the deep state. You can’t begrudge Jones just because what he started talking about 20 years ago has finally been made obvious to even the slowest witted among us.
His team puts it out so you’d put it on your blog so he gets more viewers. This is what they’ve been doing for years and part of the reason Infowars is easily one of the most successful alternative news sources in the world.
………..and AJ is correct most of the time. Just because he expresses himself with more energy than you does not mean he’s crazy. It just means you’re on some level sort of jealous.
He has connections to make the appearances. If you were in power anywhere you would want to know what he was up to. You would want to be able to negotiate, and defend from, his endeavours, would want to know who was acting in conjunction with him.
If you read up on him he comes across as a psychopath type. How anyone can listen to him is beyond me. A dangerous, self obsessed, I know best, weirdo.
Just goes to show, people with money gain outsized influence in society even if a weirdo.
– Since Alex Jones is firmly in the pocket of “The Donald” I am not surprised seeing this.
– When Jones is talking about “the dinosaurs” then he’s talking of the “corporate newspapers” who attacked our holy saint (a.k.a. “The Donald”). He’s hoping that “InfoWars” (his own website) and the “Breitbart” website will get press credentials for the White House. OMG.
AJ is not ragging on the corporate news just because he likes Trump. If you have not been schooled by what you have seen in the way the corporate media ( including FOX ) have acted like puppets of the deep state than either your intellect is quite low or you have not been watching. It does not require liking Trump to have learned something from what passed in front of your eyes this past 1.5 years.
Really? I would say your comment makes more the fool of you. Who cares if he has a good time once in a while? It’s irrelevant. And he’s making way more than you doing it.
Jones and InfoWars provide a different perspective. I watch it occasionally and have picked up some important and revealing information – not otherwise made available by the MSM. Do I take all of it seriously? Of course not. I don’t take any information source seriously 100% of the time. That includes MishTalk. But I feel that Jones has more credibility than the six ‘o clock nightly news or broadcasters like Brian Williams over at MSNBC by a long shot.
Instead of focusing on the delivery style and the appearance of the messenger – I suggest you listen to the message.
site like the washington post, reuters, financial times, new york times may have their problems but they do employ fact checkers, editors and oversight committees, something an alex jones, or breitbart or some other newer non traditional news outlets either do not or do less of. its beyond me how people can summarily dismiss the former in favor of the latter.
the best defense against news bias or fake news is being skeptical and more importantly getting your information from as many credible news sources as possible, including international publications.
No they don’t, as their near infinite supply of fraudulent, extremely slanted, or just plain fictitious stories over the years has established. That’s why they are bankrupt and have become The Carlos Slim blog and the $1 Bezos rag.
I used to read Reuters extensively when I first got into finance. Reuters isn’t too bad, but it doesn’t really provide any insight into anything, is a bit boring, and it has its slant. Since I trade now also (global macro), and I’ve since developed a far more wide ranging understanding of the world, I’ve stopped reading the FT, Reuters, NYT (never read it), and even Bloomberg, and now read extremely wide ranging sources, often even preferring alternative sources (and I genuinely feel I get more insight from them when it comes to news, and then I get views from actual financial analysts and financial sources / data, etc). Again, you have to be sceptical of everything. And I admit I’ve only ever watched Jones several times in my life, but I found it funny, and view him more as a form of entertainment. But for example having a quick scan over Breitbart, Zerohedge, online video commentators, bloggers, then combing this with a quick scan over more traditional sites like the Daily Telegraph, City A.M. The Spectator, (among numerous others), very occasionally even the odd Guardian article, which I feel provides me with a far wider picture of general dynamics and happenings among society than just reading Reuters, FT, NYT, or Bloomberg ever would. If I only had access to those four outlets I’ll have very narrow views and understandings in my opinion. I obviously then combine this extremely heavily with analytical newsletters, analysis pieces, think-tank papers, research pieces / papers, my own analysis / research, etc, to then come to conclusions.
Mr Conscience of Conservative: You have to be insane to say what you did. The problem of Reuters and NYT’s is that they are propaganda puppet arms of the state. They’re the worst that can be.
He’s visiting the big city to celebrate something he’s fought for for a very long time. OK, he’s under the influence of alcohol. So what? He’s only human. I’ll look forward to seeing him tomorrow with his hangover.
I meant to add, if it had been a scheduled studio show and he was drunk on camera I’d perhaps be a little more critical, but as it was a 5 minute, outdoor piece, probably impromptu and maybe as he walked between bars, then I’ve no problem. Just wish I could have been with him.
Haha … you know what … I didn’t have a problem with it and not sure he was “drunk” either. Maybe “drunk with Joy”. He’s in DC for in inauguration for his HERO and to see the despised Obama finally leaving … his “Legacy” likely in ruin as the rumor is Trump is going to UN-EXECUTIVE ORDER much of what Obama DID BY EXECUTIVE ORDER. So he runs across the “wall of dinosaurs” and actually thinks that he and InfoWars are going to get a seat at the “big boys” chair. So he’s giddy with JOY and decides to get it on tape …
Know what ? After 8 years of Obama shoving his vision down our throats … I’ll forgive him acting like an idiot.
Sorry Mish, but I’m giving him a pass on this one.
He looks and sounds like he has just done a one of his marathon broadcast sessions. Fail to see big difference. As for him drinking (and we have no evidence) and shaming him, why Mish?
Mish misses the boat fairly often on these human level things. I remember when Mish got all upset about something Trump said that was overly amplified by the deep state main stream media press. I told him I would bet him that Trump still wins.
I only wish I was that coherent after a few drinks. Admittedly he seems a bit sloppy at the start, but he goes on for some time and seems to not be mumbling or stumbling too much. Admittedly he does not have a teleprompter, so he IS at some disadvantage, but still…drunk? I wouldn’t say that. The pinnacle of journalism, probably not either.
What I do find interesting is that Mish is attacking him for basically the same reason as he dislikes Trump (as do many others). He has no polish and pretty much just says what comes to mind.
Yet, here we are…listening to the uncouth sob.
Talking to my cousin today (NOT a Trump supporter) and he was lamenting Trump’s “style” and how he feared it would cause problems. I suggested to him that while Trump may talk a little loose and inconsiderate of consequence, most people don’t think he is lying to them. Whereas, we have seen eight years of Obama telling almost everyone what they wanted to hear, only to do something completely different. Remember his glorious peace prize, and then we instigated the Libyan war, the Syrian war, the Yemen war, and of course the Ukrainian war (and not a PEEP out of code Pink). And what about all those drone deaths?
None the less, I personally fear far less what Trump will do because I honestly think I know what he will do…and why. It will be a transformative government if the people of the WORLD can actually BELIEVE what our president says. How unique is THAT?
Sheesh what gets me about this sort of person who gripes about Trump’s style is that they are usually liberal and usually fairly reprehensible on a regular basis in the way they comport themselves. They generally have a VERY low self awareness.
I know I am. CNN was trying to coax someone into droning the god dang inauguration. I was happy when it did not happen. Madonna was talking about blowing (up) the Whitehouse. This was not paranoia. They were quite up front about it all. And yet they accuse OTHER people of being fascists. That’s rich! Like I said lefties have low self awareness.
Well, I’ll take a drunk Alex Jones any day over the New York Times or the Washington Post. Plus I’d also get drunk if I had to spend time in Washington. It’s easily the most noxious swamp in the country.
CNN, NYT, and WaPo should have whatever AJ is drinking. Maybe it would improve their news.
They are dinosaurs. You worry about truck drivers, but Fake Stream News reporters are being replaced by people with cell phones livestreaming what is really happening in real time where it can’t be spun. I have no tar pity.
Infowars is a mishmash of really bad conspiracy theory stuff, sprinkled with real source material. Just enough credible stuff to attract attention, but so full of crap that every loony spouts it all as gospel. When looking for alternative media, years ago, I looked at that site until I found better places that actually vetted their information. But due to it’s tabloidial effect (you know it a bad train wreck, but ya just gotta look sort of thing), it gets out far and wide. Basically, it’s the internet/radio version of a tabloid and those who love trash will always go there.
The term conspire means 2 or more people working together to achieve an objective. The fact is there are people conspiring to do many things at this very moment some good some bad.
You’re wrong about Infowars. AJ has been mostly correct with some of the daily fluff needing to be ignored but for the most part he’s much better than NYT or Reuters.
“Drunken Alex Jones Goes On Air, Discusses Dinosaurs, Makes Fool of Himself”
The guy is a loon. EVERYTHING is a conspiracy to him. His crazy antics allow anyone who points out anything that is not “the mainstream narrative” which might actually BE a conspiracy or, at least, a conspiracy to hide the truth about something to be tarred as someone who is wearing a “tin foil hat.” In that, this loon does far more damage than good.
Believe it or don’t, Jones provides a service for those who know very well how corrupt the american system really is. Check out Guy McPherson if you can’t handle Jones….. People don’t want the lies from Washington and New York, and know full well the country is absolutely bankrupt. Very sad, very sad…….
And it is indeed corrupt. That woman’s march shows how much. That was funded by Soros as is Black Lives Matter. There are whole industries built up around the corruption.
Whatever you think about him Mish I do think he provides a service and even gets it right sometimes. I really don’t have any less respect for him than the mainstream media since we know most of what he says is BS while the networks still have a lot of people thinking they’re telling the truth. As far as newsmakers go I think he’s totally harmless compare to someone like George Soros who imo is a very dangerous man.
Alex Jones is an AMATEUR drunkard, whore monger, money grubber, liar, traitor, pervert, deviant, and satan worshipper. He has finally made his pilgrimage to the ONE and ONLY city on planet Earth where he can complete his graduate studies sitting at the feet of the true masters, the highly paid lobbyist whores masquerading as the elected representatives and appointed judges who compose our “Federal” government.
Mish you are, how should I say this…. “older” and therefore I believe you just don’t get it. Alex Jones is a professional troll. He just trolled you, and you just fell for it. Jones does this to get attention, because he feels its the best way to get people to listen to his messages of anti-globalization. While I think his methods do more harm than good to his cause, I mostly agree with the cause.
There is no such thing as “true news.” All news has biases. So to me, Alex Jones and have exactly the same credibility rating. Has Alex Jones spouted crazy shit in the past? You bet. Has the venerated media lied their faces off and been proven to be entirely controlled propaganda? You bet.
Yeah he is a good troll too. Like the ones that made Hillary Inc believe their Pepe the Frog was a YT symbol. Or 4Chan who wrote up the Pee Hooker story and then fed it to Rick Wilson who fed it to Evan McMullin who fed it to John McCain who fed it to the CIA who spoon fed it to CNN …………..making them all look like monkey’s uncles.
It was not painful to watch or incoherent. His message about the dinosaur media was correct, so why are you trying to unnecessarily smear Jones? Interesting.
Jones’ healthy and patriotic skepticism of govt has been proven to be true. The only people acting drunk and crazy are the desperate establishment. This piece smells desperate.
It is very odd for Trump to choose Lincoln as his symbol.
The Lincoln Memorial was chosen as the place for his
inaugural concert. Trump stood up saying he wanted
to be president of everyone… but Lincoln was the one
president who was NOT president of everyone. Further,
the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” Trump played during
the fireworks was a militant Yankee song used to rally
Union troops to kill Southerners. In other words, Lincoln
and that song are symbols that scream division and
civil war… but Trump used them while touting unity ??
Trump says one thing, but his symbols scream the
total opposite. Someone very strange happening here.
Atossa, are you referring to the same Lincoln who said in the Gettysburg address, probably one of the most quoted speeches of all time, “this nation… shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth…” and then did everything in his power to make damn sure the people of the south were denied a government of the people of the south, by the people of the south and for the people of the south. Is that the very same Lincoln you are referring to?
I doubt public schools teach the horrors of Reconstruction these days.
Here in Texas, towards the end of Reconstruction there was a conflict over who would be governor. When the people elected a Democrat, the Republican governor refused to leave the Texas Capitol and asked President Grant to send federal troops to keep him in office. Grant denied the request.
There were good reasons the South was solidly Democrat for a 100 years… until liberals, communists and cultural marxist destroyed the Dixiecrats.
Why anyone would choose Lincoln as a symbol of one united America is beyond me.
Lincoln was USA president a few weeks before and during the Civil War… from March 4, 1861 to his assassination April 15, 1865.
The Civil War was from April 12, 1861 – May 9, 1865
Jefferson Davis was president of the Confederate States of America [CSA] from February 22, 1862 – May 10, 1865
After Lincoln’s assassination and the war between the states was over, there was a decade of horrific “Reconstruction” which included Yankee military rule and occupation of the conquered South.
” At the end of the Civil War, Lincoln was the President of everyone. ”
______________
Lincoln was assassinated BEFORE the end of the Civil War which began just a few weeks after he became president.
Lincoln became president on March 4 [1861]… the Civil War began on April 12 [1861.] Lincoln died on April 15 [1865.] While General Lee surrendered on April 9 [1865]… that news took time to reach Confederate troops in the field and fighting continued. One of the last battles of the Civil War was in Texas May 1865 – Confederates won. Cherokee Chief and Confederate general, Stand Watie [Oklahoma], did not surrender until June [1865.] Surrender of Confederate ship, CSS Shenandoah, happened November [1865.] Declaration of Peace was not signed by President Andrew Johnson until August 1866.
General Lee surrendered while other Confederate generals continued to fight.
President Jefferson Davis, who received Lee’s letter of surrender on April 12 [two days before Lincoln’s assassination] was still president of the CSA…. and continued to be president of the CSA after Lincoln’s death. President Jefferson Davis was taken POW May 1965.
Definitely not a factual news story one would read in the Washington Post.
Jones: “Our government is so corrupt it makes Putin look good.”
Corey Booker became the first sitting Senator to testify against another, then voted against re-importation of pharmaceuticals from Canada. Booker received a large sum of contributions from drug manufacturers.
Jones does look inebriated, but i found him coherent. He made a point in an entertaining manner.
I have sometimes listened to his radio show. He sometimes goes into rants, sounding like a lunatic. If anything hurts his cause, it is that.
We live in a new age. It’s time to quit being like a prim school marm clucking your tongue at real people’s presentation style. I do not give a fudge if someone rants. I want good accurate truthful analysis. Not the lies/propaganda of the New York Times. For now you can get that from Infowars.
Mish and fellow Mish readers, I beg you reconsider.
Here’s how I see the situation:
– Big Media is “fake news”. Big Media (including not just Wapo, NYT, US-based video “news” but also many “pseudo-independent” blogs ultimately controlled by interlocking/related ownership or staff) *prioritizes* (a) the interests of Big Business, Big Government, Big Finance, and Big Brother *over* (b) telling the truth. If we accept Orwell’s definition of “journalism” (publishing what someone else doesn’t want published — while anything else is ‘public relations’), then we must accept that Big Media is the public relations industry for government and business.
– Some relatively independent journalists/websites/bloggers “pull the curtains aside” on the FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) sector while some “pull the curtains aside” on MISEC (military-industrial-spying-enforcement complex). I count Mish in the first category and Alex Jones in the second.
– If you historically mostly relied on Big Media (instead of Mish, for instance) for your FIRE reporting, you will *likely* wrongfully conclude Mish is “fake news” about FIRE. (If you’re reading comments on Mish’s site, then this conditional probably does *not* apply to you.)
– If you historically mostly relied on Big Media (instead of InfoWars, for instance) for your MISEC reporting, you will *likely* wrongfully conclude Alex Jones is “fake news” about MISEC. This *might* apply to some of you here.
– If you’re reading one set and not the other, you’re missing an opportunity to learn about some part of your world!
– Over the past decade, I’ve spent close to 10,000 hours reading FIRE- and MISEC-focused sites that empire-loving WaPo wrongly smeared as “fake news”. Since InfoWars is not a regular source for me and I’ve only spot-checked, I lack a basis to *strongly* endorse it. But, it seems unfair to label it “fake news”, because: (a) In a few spot-checks I found significant consistency between what’s published by InfoWars and by the other smeared sites that I do read regularly and (b) I sometimes find nuggets at InfoWars not repeated elsewhere.
– Thoughts on this video in particular: “Dinosaur” as a metaphor for the soon-to-be-extinct print media. Pretty good metaphor for a drunk guy. Pretty good (seemingly) off-the-cuff commentary on each of the stories he found on those front pages, too. Lastly, although I very rarely do so myself, I see nothing wrong with occasional drinking to the point of slurred speech. Do people always have to present a certain veneer? This video doesn’t bother me.
…
Mish, I encourage you to embrace and promote websites (including InfoWars) that “pull the curtains aside” on any aspect of our “Huxorwellian” (Huxley/Orwell) dystopia, rather than discourage people from visiting them.
FWIW, I’m no johnny-come-lately to your work. I’ve read every single one of your articles almost since the month you started! I don’t always agree but believe your “signal-to-noise” ratio is *unsurpassed*. Along with Barry Ritholtz’s old site, zerohedge, calculated risk blog, washingtonsblog, and several dozen others, your research and analysis improved my understanding of issues within the FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) domains. But, on matters within MISEC, on two occasions, I sensed a slight bit of naivety in your interpretation of some current event. That’s okay because it’s not your focus. (And, sorry, no, I don’t want to cite those examples and explain…) But, if you’re going to publish your opinions on MISEC issues or websites, I recommend you spend a lot more time reading them. A few suggestions: MoonOfAlabama.org, WashingtonsBlog.com, GlobalResearch.ca, CommonDreams, CounterPunch, Cryptogon, Mondoweiss, Voltaire.net, BlackAgendaReport, “Corbett Report”, and “Jimmy Dore” (for a dash of amusement — not really “MISEC”).
I agree. If you listen to the anti Jones types they the same would brand Mish as a nutcase. Why?? Because he advocates abolishing the Federal Reserve. Who has the most money to pay for propaganda? The Federal Reserve. I’ll stick with Jones and the Mish.
The only dinosaur, that Alex Jones missed, was that of the American culture.
The “fuck you,” and “I don’t give a fuck” attitude, coupled with the fact that, American culture views altruism as Socialism, then when this failing state, more commonly known as the United Slobs of America, completely disintegrates, then the whole world will be much wiser and better off.

There is no such thing as “true news.” All news has biases. So to me, Alex Jones and have exactly the same credibility rating. Has Alex Jones spouted crazy shit in the past? You bet. Has the venerated media lied their faces off and been proven to be entirely controlled propaganda? You bet.

The war ended before Lincoln was assassinated. General Lee surrendered and Lincoln visited Richmond, the former capital of the Confederacy.
After WW2 there were some Japanese troops on isolated islands that didn’t get the word. Regardless, WW2 was over, already.
There were Germans that wouldn’t quit after the May surrender. They became known as the werewolves. Still, the war in Germany was over.
The War of 1812 was over before the battle of New Orleans. They didn’t even have a telegraph back then.
