Dear President Trump, forgive my harsh language, but since you and your staff can use harsh language, why can’t anyone else?
That’s a minor question. Since you are busy, I prefer an answer to this question: What the F Business is Venezuela of Ours?
I ask because you stated: “We have many options for Venezuela including a possible military option if necessary.”
Dear President Trump, here are some additional questions that I am sure are on the minds of nearly everyone familiar with the story.
Ten Questions for Trump
- Are you willing to “own” the problems in Venezuela?
- What does “necessary” mean?
- Did US nation building in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan work?
- Did not Vietnam turn out OK starting the moment we left?
- Did the US intervene to stop hyperinflation in Zimbabwe? Argentina?
- Are there not more repressive regimes in Africa?
- What’s different about Venezuela?
- By any chance is this about oil?
- Other than oil, what the F business is Venezuela of ours?
- Regardless of your threats and concerns, when has US nation building ever worked?
I thank you in advance for your answers.
Bonus Question
Dear Mr. President, I almost forgot: How do you propose we pay for a military solution in Venezuela?
I voted for you and would appreciate some answers.
Unless you can provide answers, I strongly suggest we do not need another quagmire, we cannot afford another quagmire, and we should stay the F* out of it.
Mike” Mish” Shedlock
#11. What American businesses are lobbying Washington to get involved in a war/intervention, so that they can profit from it? That’s our history since Ronald Reagan got out of office, so I don’t expect it to change.
Youngster, that’s been going on before Ahab hunted Moby Dick and Hannibal crossed the Alps for Roman slave nooky. Speaking of slaves, are you one of the six million that got whipped by the IRS for the failure to pick Barack’s Blue Cross Anthem or a similar plantation product instead of cotton?
Haven’t heard any whinging about the theft of taxpayer dollars to finance the askenace land thieves.
If you are naive enough to think the US started meddling abroad during/after Reagan, than you need to go repeat elementary school.
Unless you are an uneducated fool, you might have read the Monroe Doctrine, perhaps one of the most famous incidents (not the first) where a US President decided that US interests were going to be imposed, and if necessary forced, upon other countries.
And James Monroe wasn’t the first. It started with George Washington (only because he was the first President). It was happening under the British Empire.
Grow up and stop acting like a child.
Venezuela ,I’m with you. we have no business there all this wars r ruining this country..
God bless President Trump for his intervention in Venezuela.
Maduro is a criminal who is attacking the helpless people of Venezuela.
A just man can NOT stand by while TORTURES are taking place in Venezuela.
Libertartians are terrible friends … !!!!!!!
When friends start dropping bombs on you family… Who needs enemies.
To paraphrase one of the ultimate libertarians (Lew Rockwell) So when you look out of your house and are surrounded by men in bullet proof jackets and (actual) assault rifles is your first thought going to be; Yeah freedom has arrived.
Isn’t it funny how the colors red, white and blue stand for freedom until you see them flashing in your rear view mirror.
No, really? Oil? Nah, couldn’t be,,,,,,,
Actually, the US is is huge buyer of Venezuelan oil, especially ever since the government there bought Cities Service Oil Co and renamed it Citgo. If the Trump administration wants their oil, would they be proposing banning the importation their oil?
Other than that the US should just ignore Venezuela. Like obamacrap, it will self destruct on it’s own.
Citgo is 49.9% owned by Rosneft
fingerhole read the Professor’s article link. Rosneft does NOT own 49.9% of Citgo, it is collateral on a $1.5 billion loan, which Rosneft in fact wants to swap for other things. Citgo is still 100% owned by the Venezuelan government.
Yes, but,,,,
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-russia-oil-specialreport-idUSKBN1AR14U
So, who’s the deal maker, Vlad or The Don?
It would seem they are both dealmakers. I’m glad we finally have someone on our side who understands negotiating and dealing.
Your so funny … how Orginal
Ya good article , it’s Russian influence in Venezuela’s floundering oil industry . China pulled out some time ago. Maybe that’s why Ole ‘Rex’ is Secretary of State . The Venezuelan’s sit on one of the world’s largest deposits of oil, yet the government mismanaged it. The U.S. should have sent in Goldman Sachs long ago .
Good question Mish…US Taxpayer fleecing could be the only reason for getting involved in the tar baby that is Venezuela…Deep State pressure on Trump?
Mueller is closing in and Korea and Venezuela provide distractions. And the same reason he gave us for Iraq “we take the oil”.
Mueller is not closing in – Mueller is still fishing. Trump is being Trump – notice war isn’t as appealing when Trump talks? Trump is the best thing to happen to the shit show.
I’ll hand ya that,,,,it did get more interesting when Slack Jaw Don entered the scene.
Amen, Clinton launched missles to try and distract from Lewinski affair. I think Trump threw Venezuela into the fire when he realized NoKo will either be resolved by mid Aug or we’ll be in WWIII
God bless President Trump for his intervention in Venezuela.
Maduro is a criminal who is attacking the helpless people of Venezuela.
A just man can NOT stand by while TORTURES are taking place in Venezuela.
Libertartians are terrible friends … !!!!!!!
Mueller is closing in my a$$. The Swamp lovers like to keep repeating that BS while never ever offering any actual evidence. Meanwhile, just keep ignoring the obvious actual evidence of the crimes of the DNC/Hillary/Obama. Disgusting swamp politics.
Mueller is on a ridiculous and wild goose chase — and enjoying the lucrative government contract he is under.
If there was a smoking gun that would amount to anything against Trump, the hopelessly biased media would have printed it already. The children in the “intelligence” community that have recordings of both Trump’s calls and Hilary’s emails — would have leaked it. They have leaked everything they could already.
Any halfwit can investigate. Removing a sitting President from office requires some rather solid evidence, and there just isn’t anything.
Remember Bill Clinton’s endless perjury and lying? The evidence was overwhelming, including a stained dress with his (ahem) DNA on it. Nothing happened. Remember the CIA operative Valerie Plame, who damaged her own cover, then tried to blame it on Robert Novak? Did anything happen to Cheney or Bush? NOPE.
How about Hilary Clinton entering a crime scene (Vince Foster’s office, which had yellow tape blocking the door) — was Hilary treated the same way a regular citizen would have been treated? NOPE — witch got away with a felony and later became Sec State before running for office.
The burden of proof against Mueller is simply overwhelming — and he doesn’t have a shred of evidence.
Mueller’s entire investigation is just a distraction to placate the safe space crowd. Sorry your child like mind can’t grasp adult concepts. Have a piece of candy and be quiet.
It is highly unlikely that Trump has something going on with the Russians. The only add thing is why does Trump want the investigation to continue so badly, what does he have to gain? He does one thing after another to demand the investigation continue, the latest is his thanking Putin for kicking out our diplomats. Every time he has an opportunity to criticize Russia he does his best to avoid it.
1) the CIA and diplomatic corps in Moscow failed to foresee the collapse of the USSR, failed to anticipate any of the changes in Russian politics, failed to foresee Ukraine/Syria etc… basically if we had ZERO staff in Moscow, we would be equally informed.
Basic business 101… if you can replace 755 staff with zero and get the same results, the only reason to keep those 755 people is because Congress lacks the spine to make needed cuts. The US war machine might “need” 755 idiots in Moscow, but the US taxpayer does not.
2) Mueller is a DNC operative, as are most of his staff. As such, their burden of proof is even higher than a “neutral” or unbiased special investigator. No one has produced any evidence against Trump, the whole thing is a witch hunt… and in a witch hunt its better if the “prosecutor” has discredited himself. Mueller’s one-sided hiring practices invalidates his conclusions right out of the gate.
Still not sure if Trump will be a great President or not… I just know the status quo isn’t working, and we need to try something else to get desperately better leadership. The fact that the status quo feels so threatened by Trump is a good sign for all of us outside the beltway.
If Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Afghanistan have taught us anything…
Now, as for air dropping weapons so that the “people” of Venezuela so they can take of business. Makes mucho more sense.
Right on, Mish. I still say with Trump we get as much intervenism as we would of with HRC — plus the protectionist tendencies and the ant-immigrant lunacy. Your tepid support of Trump was based on the only and best reason for holding one’s nose and voting for him, that he would be less belligerent and interventionist. I never for one second accepted the validity of that argument., and so held my nose and voted for HRC. Behold soon, we should fear, what Trump meant when he talked during the campaign of bombing enemies into the Stone Age. A man who says that water boarding was too light a tactic is a man who believes ends justify extreme means. What he’d do to an individual suspect , he seems ready to do to an innocent civilian population. Not only an injustice to the innocent, but probably ineffective in achieving the ends he and we seek.
“We came, we saw, he died…cackle, cackle, cackle” — Warmonger Hillary on destabilizing Libya
“I am pretty good at killing people” – Noble Peace obama
“The Iraq War was a huge mistake.” – DJT
You go ahead and keep holding your nose
Correction sir; Trump is opposed to IIEGAL immigration, as are the vast majority of your fellow citizens. If you are coming here and want to be an American citizen, you should bring money and or a needed skill. Speak or learn English and you don’t get to bring your 50 family members with you.
But of course those new citizens would likely be Republican voters, so it’s no wonder that Democrats favor poor, illiterate, dependant illegals. Just check California.
Its called Citgo. The company has been part of the political affairs of our government since the eighties. We used and abused that company until it served no political or financial use. Citgo needs the political clout and backing of the White House in order to assure an arms length away from the Chinese debt. The intelligence agency has always used citgo in their manipulation of oil markets, both domestically and OPEC.
Venezuela has weapons of mass production.
Can CIAGO, we um, I mean CITGO be used to destabilize Ven. Even though they barely have any stability now?
Venezuelan oil is really heavy and sour crude. It requires a lot more refining (aka EXPENSIVE) than other oil sources.
Hugo Chavez mistreated and wrecked Venezuelan oil fields. Its not just the rusting rigs and pumps at the surface that have been neglected, the deposits deep underground have been mismanaged.
Put on your tin foil hat and whine about the CIA all you like. The oil companies would have pressured Clinton or Bush or Obama to intervene if they thought there was anything in Venezuela worth salvaging.
Trump is highlighting Bernie Sander’s socialist “utopia” (aka Venezuela) because he knows the infants in the media won’t even listen to rational arguments. There is no free health care. No free income. No free lunch.
Bernie isn’t grown up enough to understand this, and his most radical supporters aren’t either. But as more and more Americans see the epic nightmare that socialism caused in Venezeula, it will cut the rug out from under Bernie’s infants.
That is the whole point. After that, Trump will change his mind (again? still? whatever) and be off on the next topic.
If the education system in the USA wasn’t being run by infants who lack real world experience, perhaps the country could have a more adult conversation about socialism… but if that were so, Bernie wouldn’t have gotten so much democratic party support and child care centers like Berkley and UMissouri and Harvard wouldn’t be mocked for their safe space gender normative bull sh!t.
Trump has to persuade a lot of people who attended college (some even got pieces of paper saying they graduated) — but they never grew up.
china and Russia has big plans for vene oil, china wants bolivian nat gas, maduro will allow Chinese and Russian bases (for the right price),china belidves a takeover of south America and mexico under there sphere is not only doable but probable
He needs a war by 2020, or he’s out, and he knows it. He’s hedging against Korean Trump being all talk and no action.
And yet Trump is doing everything he can to avoid a conflict with Russia…
Doesn’t really fit your meme
And suggesting military action in Venezuela, a Russian ally, is avoiding a conflict with Russia, how?
Click on the link in my comment above.
So many people fail to understand because they take him literally – your reality is only yours.
Sanctions are fine. Ring fence the country. Provide the intelligence to have South American forces drop a bomb on Maduro in his sleep. But please, no U.S. forces.
Be sure and don’t break any windows on the Rosneft Building with that “Made in USA” bomb, now, ya hear?
We have more people being killed in Chicago. Let’s take care of this first.
Seems to me, Twitterman has inferred military (Fed) options on that too, Cal.
If you will look at the reports of each of those murders, they are generally young men walking around on the streets late at night in what are the statistically most dangerous areas of the city. How stupid do you need to be to fail to avoid being dead?
Isn’t Chicago is Rahm territory? Rahm will let them die before he lets Trump have a say.
Rahm, Hillary, Obama, & Bill Ayers: all graduates of the Chicago School of Political Corruption.
Mish
You nailed it
Shedlock for President
You have more common sense than any of the a holes in Washington
Mish,
Love you work. But please, no fs are needed. Just soundly, thoughtfully in a reasoned way express yourself.
David
Some good f*ing points.
A couple of comments from above:
1) ‘it will self destruct on it’s own’
2) ‘china and Russia has big plans for vene oil, china wants bolivian nat gas, maduro will allow Chinese and Russian bases (for the right price)’
Nature abhors a vacuum, and a vacuum is definitely forming.
The US needs to ensure Venezuela does not become another NK-style rottweiler-on-a-leash, or become a site for other pet power-plays significantly against US interest.
As an aside, I am not sure that Kim is mad – weirdly evil, but not mad. Maduro, though, is quite another matter. The first letter of his name spell it out clearly.
Obviously some legitimate interests in Venezuela have asked to be rescued from the bus driver. The Pentagon has contingency plans for invasion of every location on earth. Those plans were probably mentioned in his briefing. Fortunately President Trump said nothing about the CIA sniper option.
I was just thinking the same when your post popped up. Apparently competent assassins are in short supply these days or the Maduros, Kims and Assads would be taking a dirt nap.
The leaders don’t like that option. They pretend that it isn’t a good solution because it opens the door to a bullet through their own heads.
I would expect that the CIA have a small drone with a single bullet weapon on board that could get close enough to Maduro or Assad to be effective. Kim is another story perhaps.
Well, Millions more refugees heading to the US shores when Venezuela collapses for starters makes it Trumps biz.
Also, proven oil reserves in Venezuela are recognized as the largest in the world.
Stability with it’s neighbors is also in the US interest. Columbia has show great strides in recovering from it’s despotic drug lord infested days of debauchery and to see it destabilized and all the progress lost would add X to an already humanitarian issue.
China and Russia already have their interest at play in Venezuela so our own geo location gives Trump leverage over them in this regard.
Yes folks, like it or not Venezuela is our business.
bollocks.
Why weren’t people this passionate when Obama illegally attacked and invaded Libya and Syria?
Trump merely said that using a military option in Venezuela is a possibility and everybody goes ape%$%.
Maybe because?,,,,,
http://taskandpurpose.com/trump-calls-interventions-iraq-afghanistan-absolute-failure/
Apparently you don’t recall that Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize before he illegally invaded and attacked Libya and Syria.
Yet it was barely mentioned by the libs and the media after he illegally attacked Libya and set up a sitting President (Gaddafi) for an assassination (in violation of the signed treaties) or when he illegally attacked Syria. Most on the left cheered him on!
How short our human memories are.
+1
Except you forgot to mention the infants in the media cheered Obama for killing a lot more people. Trump is doing a lot more posturing, a lot less actual killing.
I don’t believe this Venezuelan nonsense is anything other than a Trump-like way to highlight the infantile thinking of socialists like Bernie Sanders.
You may have noticed Bernie doesn’t even mention the utopia of Venezuela when he is trying to force socialism on the country. Bernie may be a con artist and a snake oil salesman, but he isn’t dumb enough to let his supporters see what eventually emerges from socialist policies
Words never killed anybody.
Trump uses words as a negotiation tool. It’s his way of bringing about a resolution. I suspect he thought that by putting a military option on the table that the Venezuelan leaders would stand up and listen, . It’s extremely unlikely (like 50 to 1 odds) that Trump would even use military force on Venezuela.
My point is that the pundits go ballistic over Trump’s words yet remained silent when Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, massacred tens of thousands of innocents (to include women and children) in armed attacks that were without a scintilla of doubt violations of international law. If certain foreign leaders would have mimicked Obama’s behavior with other nations they’d be carted off to The Hague in handcuffs to face war crime prosecutions.
Per your final point, liberals never cite examples that disprove their own ideological beliefs.
Is that country not on par with oil reserves with Saudi Arabia?
Yes, we covet their oil. More importantly these nations that we continuously threaten have little to no debt to the banksters.
Mish, you got what you wished and voted for…..a ludicrous dumb president who made America the laughing stock of the world. What do you now complain about ?
I am proven equal party basher. If I like something I say so, if I don’t I also say so.
It’s too bad others don’t do the same.
Arthur you sir are a fool. More especially so if you voted for HRC WHO LOST THE ELECTION or didn’t vote or wrote in someone as a protest vote. You are an even bigger fool if you think the world hasn’t been laughing at the USA for years, more especially so since 2008. Who could blame them since Johnson. Personally I don’t give a hoot what the world thinks anymore. I care about the USA. I’ve been a Ron Paul supporter for years and registered supporter of his Prosparity for Peace. However this last election, was for our Constitution. A protest vote would have been a waste and could have gotten us the Kankle Queen of Evil, hrc. Trump knew the electoral college vote would win him the election and he save our country from that treasonous bitch. While the never trumpers, the hrc supporters, the so called democrats, the left wing nut jobs, the mainstream media, globalist the treasonous Neo Cons, treasonous Neo Crats, were all telling lies, wire tapping him Trump went about winning the presidency. I believe he will save our Constitution and our country. I support what Mish wrote in this blog. I encourage Mish and everyone else who reads this blog write to the Presidentt do the same. It seems to me if he got 3 million emails or letters or so telling him to not support any foreign wars, reminding him that he ran on the principle of America and Americans First .we are sick of Nation building, regime changes, foreign aid for wars, we will get more done. President Trump needs to be reminded how he got his presidency.
Trump is keen to know what the US’s future looks like and Venezuela clearly has the answers!
Venez has no beer, can’t we just establish a humanitarian exchange program of beer for oil?
Too bad the Constitutional requirement that Congress declare war, so that a single egotistical individual couldn’t put the nation at war, doesn’t apply anymore.
While Congress is on recess Trump puts the country on the brink of nuclear war and muses about invading a country that is ZERO 0 threat to US.
I shocked, Mish! Do you mean to imply that you don’t own stock in the big players in the industrial/military complex? Follow the money along the Trump-blazed path to WWIII. Venezuela is just a side-show. For the good of the country we each should own as much of these stocks as possible so that the nation can tax our ill-gotten gains. It’s not nuclear science – oh, wait, yes it is…
_aleph_
As far as I know our military is the only contingent way have for sending Americans to foreign shores…you know like when there are earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters. Venezuela is falling apart and may end up as big a natural disaster as ANY other, so why wouldn’t we have plans for the military to step in and try to restore order…..or is it like everything else now where we don’t give a damn about anyone else. I don’t think that is what Trump was speaking of with America First.
This another demonstration of knee jerk hostility towards Trump. Our nation is phsyco and dysfunctional.
10% of the US cocaine supply is Maduro’s generals
Hmmm…. what could that be all about. Just a few headlines from yesterday:
Venezuela’s oil industry is ‘sitting on a volcano’ as crisis escalates
Putin’s Venezuela: How Moscow is grabbing oil assets through loans to Caracas
How Venezuela chaos could spark oil rally OPEC has failed to achieve
“Darn, how are we going to use that WMD excuse again? I know, it’s a ‘humanitarian’ effort! Yeah, that’s it!”
The smart thing to do would be to pursue a Senator Seward like plan( Alaska Purchase).
Simply offer to purchase Venezuela’s Oil reserves for One TRILLION dollars.. Offer them control of a national US Govt Sponsored Trust that would put 100 Billion USD into the trust followed by 50 BILLION a year for 19 years..
Also Offer to ERASE ALL Debts Give them a clean slate.
You could place stipulations on the trust that pmts go to each citizen like we do with Alaska ect..
Problem solved and the US Govt secures the largetst oil reserves on the planet for it’s people with fiat dollars$$$
Seems to me that they already have plenty of private ownership in Venezuela, only to nationalize it. For America to buy ANYTHING from a socialist regime is insanity.
Umm, the purchase is backed up by the might of the US Military… No Default For You!!!
Sane Americans, of course, would do nothing.
Self immolation? When WE is not ME.
We have so much disgust for our own nations and leaders, when it is WE that empowered them and continue to do so. I’m not sure if this is self hate or transference, but it sure doesn’t sound like guilt.
Maybe Trump only wants to create the perception of a problem and the perception of a solution. Unfortunately perceptions can become realities.
Comey went through 600k e-mails in a few days time in order to clear HRC of the “incident” she was involved in. There must be a way the Deep State can get Maduro to see things their way…
iron.door
G there is no such thing as an American citizen, check your passport
War with North Korea?
War with Venezuela?
(trade) War with China?
…
What will next week’s agenda bring?
Did DJT make a deal with the warmongering side of the Deep State?
Atta Boy!! Thank you for writing to President Trump. You did send it to him didn’t you? If you didn’t , do you mind if I forward him a copy? I write to our President several times a month pleading much the same as this your excellant blog. It seems the deep state of Neo Cons, Neo Crats, Fed and Central Bankers and Industrial Ware Machine now solidly in control since the Republicans failed to repeal and or replace Obummer care. I keep writing asking him to stop the fucking wars and close all the bases. I want us out of these regime changes, defending or starting Military Coup’s. Every dollar in any of those type of foreign subsidies or any foreign subsidies
has to stop. And if it did we could and should invest all the money sent over seas instead send it here to clean up urban blight, small town beautification and rebuild our infrastructure of power grid, communication bridge road water treatment sewer and water air and seaports just like Reagan only better.
Want to get China and Russia to put an end to North Korea? Block them both out of participating in any of that rebuild America work. Just say kill that little fuck in North Korea and destroy his military before he strikes or threatens to strike, now immediately if not sooner or you don’t sell one shoe, one car, one drop of oil or gas
Into the USA. Deal with Kim Fat Fuck first or no deal here.
That’s pretty much what I write and I apologize for the language too.
So send that letter to the President, Mish. Holy cow that has a nice ring to it!!
President Mish!! Write that Letter hey write that letter!! Send it today send it today!
Mish, it’s a game of words – the presidency is the same as the Fed. The real stuff is behind the scenes.
When I was born we where 2 billion strong, now we are almost 8 billion. and adding 80 million per year, maybe Trump is trying to correct that!
Trump doesn’t have to do Mother Nature’s work. It’s only a matter of time before some lethal virus mutates to the point that science can’t kill it. We humans aren’t immune to nature’s forces and her balancing act that controls all animal species. It’s just a matter of time. The globe is overpopulated. Time for a thinning of the herd. A nuclear war would get very messy. Just let Mother Nature do her thing.
If you don’t think the Feds aren’t working on a gene specific virus somewhere in Maryland, you are a fool..
You cannot use harsh language because it sets a bad example. The less good people are willing to try to do the right thing, the worse things will continue to get.
I do agree with you on Venezuela…I am not convinced that any president, so far, has done a very good diplomatic job with N Korea-other than threats and sanctions…
…I don’t like how Trump is handling any of this…
Neither threats…nor bad language…is going to fix this appropriately.
Its the old “I get it: everyone has to the right thing EXCEPT you”…adage!!!
By all means, speak your mind…just be professional about it.
So Kim can threaten us but we can’t threaten him?
No wonder the fat little fuzzball has been extorting us for the last 25 years.
So the next time some maniacal jerk threatens to burn down my home I should act professional and treat him with respect? Yeah, that should work. .
The US has threatened North Korea every year since it stopped its illegal war on the state.
Venezuela already wrecked the oil fields that were once owned (and maintained) by US oil majors. Its naive to think the oil companies are coaxing Trump to intervene more than a decade after the horse has left the barn.
The left doesn’t like big oil. We heard you whining before. We heard it endlessly for years. We just didn’t listen because we think you are childish and naive. More whining isn’t going to help your “cause” because you already discredited yourselves.
Putting the Socialist NIGHTMARE that is Venezuela on western media radars is just a way to tell the infants that support Bernie Sanders to go change their own diapers.
Socialism causes misery and suffering, and the lack of adults in Washington DC is really getting annoying. Bernie Sanders might have taken 100 trips around the sun, but he has the mentality of a 5 year old.
There is no free health care. No free income. No free lunch period. If you are old enough to be reading this blog, then you should know better.
Trump is forcing you infants to face reality. Its understandable that reality scares the cr@p out of 5 year olds, but then if you are reading this blog you are supposed to be an adult. Grow up, or go watch Saturday morning cartoons with the other children.
Just try making an argument about Venezuela without discrediting that dingbat Bernie and his romper room support group. You can’t. That is the point.
LFOldTimer: Mother Nature is primary , we humans r like Aphids on a rose but Mother Nature can very messy to. But you r right Nature will correct the wrongs we r doing.
Drain the swamp he said. Somebody get him a bulldozer….we need a BIGGER swamp.
It just shows the power and influence of corporate America. The Ind/Military complex is terrified that peace might break out at any moment.

Its like with the Statue of Liberty: WE are an example for the world.
WE are NOT for the world to come here. Similarly, we are not responsible for Venezuela.
We can advise and help on a private level, and encourage— but they must resolve the socialist disaster they have wrought
The last thing we need are more ‘economic hitmen’ helping out Venezuela.
Reblogged this on World4Justice : NOW! Lobby Forum..
I genuinely feel bad for the people of Venezuela. But there is one fact that i cannot forget with regards to this mess: they voted for it. For a decade and a half the bought into Chavez ‘s wealth redistribution, price controls and nationalization of industries. Now they suffer from the shortages these policies create.
AND our kids now have to die to fix this?
